I'm interested in some comic book style dot shader for previous DAZ generations (Genesis, Genesis 2 & Genesis 3). I already have it for Genesis 8. That's what I used to make the sample but I would really like it for the earlier generations.

If I understand correctly what yiu need is a genesis skin texture that produces dots on the surface, simulating the comic textures to produce clear colors? And you want these dots to appear only on the skin and not on the hair, lips etc.? I think I can do that-

Tue, Jul 18, 2023Sort of but not exactly. The dots are white in the normal skin areas and the dots become black in the shadow skin area -- look at the entire person to see what I mean.

Well, it's just a shader, and those should work on any model in Studio. I imagine that it isn't terribly hard to make one if you're familiar with its node system. But I also bet this package will work:

PWtoon does the same thing in 3Delight, but DAZ took it off the market back in 2021. PW shader packs were my go-to until Uber was added to the free Studio install.

Sun, Jul 23, 2023It's really too bad that documentation for Studio is near-nil. It has a lot of powerful tools built into it. I bet someone with enough "node-fu" in the program could come up with something that works well. I haven't even touched nodes aside from making shadow catchers.

obviously I could change the color density, making the skin to appear darker than that, or the dots larger than the ones in the sample.

I created in GIMP a texture in which the black dots become transparent, allowing to view the layer bellow, which is the Genesis skin-
Later, substituted the skin texture by the one I have generated.
I can upload the genesis child with the textures. To apply the dotted texture to your model, you only have to take all the surfaces of my genesis child and paste them in the skin surfaces of your character-
I would sell it for $5
