This site has the best DAZ character morphs being offered for sale! I am spending more money here than on any other DAZ site!
I would like to make two suggestions :
1) Genesis 8 has been around longer than any other Genesis. Consequently, a lot of accessories (hair, clothing, shoes, etc) have been released for G8. I would encourage the developers not to rush off too quickly away from G8. I plan on staying on G8 for as long as I can because of all the extras that I have for it. If you develop something for G9, please consider making a G8 version.
2) Do not forget about G3 or even G2. I create digital cartoons. Many of my "stars" are G3 and even G2 based. My readers have developed an attachment to these characters. I tried to migrate to to the next Genesis. Some I was success in doing. Most I was not and the characters remain in their original G2 and G3 format. I would love to see new accessories released for those older Genesis's. There is a realistic muscular body morph for G8 & G9. I'd love to see it for G2 & G3. There are thinning and fatten morphs that I would gladly buy for the older Genesis's if it was being offered.
Please seriously consider these two suggestions.

On point 1
I can reassure you: at least I have completely given up working for and on G9 ... and at some point I will design some GF8 clothes again (even if they are rather simple, as they are usually taken off very quickly
On point 2
I have seen many stunning renderings with GF3. On 'rotica one of the administrators (I think it was RangerRabbit) once gave a little insight into the sales figures for older versions (G3 etc) in the forum. That didn't look bad ... really not bad.
My problem: I'm happy to have GF8 / GF8.1 under control and don't know whether I should dare to try G3. But I'm sure there are many CC's who continue to develop for the older versions too.
So for point 2, I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you ... Point 1 is booked

Sadly Daz's entire business model is based on planned obsolescence.
they wont admit it but each new version the genesis models require a near complete replacement of the the content ecosystem including poses and animations.
to keep users buying.
I have clothing content modeling skills and export my characters to Blender and Iclone for animation & rendering, so I have the luxury of using any generation of the Daz Genesis models for personal work.
but for my commercial animation products, I have to support the latest Genesis models because the average buyer of Daz content has been "forced" to upgrade by aggressive Daz marketing and Daz studio specific features that no longer support the older models such as Dforce hair and Iray only working with the newest model shaders etc.

Sun, Mar 03, 2024There is therefore an interest in keeping the exe files from old versions of Daz, and installing them in different folders.
Currently on my PC I have version 4.12 which allows me to have several sessions of this version open simultaneously which version 4.20 and higher does not allow.

Sun, Mar 03, 2024Do the G9s work well there? Because some functions are not activated in old versions.

Mon, Mar 04, 2024I do not recommend G9 with version 4.12 for renderings. The texture of G9 is not taken into account, it is all gray. The poses seem correct to me, the clothes fit properly

I think more than they'd like to admit have caught on to this fact. Some stick with the previous generation, some go with every other generation, others ride the older generations until there's little choice but to move on... Starting over after building a nice collection sucks. It doesn't become much of a problem until there's some shiny that the latest generation gets that would be (or would have been) just perfect for a previous generation figure.
At least things like independent objects like environments/scenes and certain props have a longer shelf life.

Mon, Mar 04, 2024Unfortunately that's how it is.
The latest version of Daz 4.22.16 does not allow me to overwrite morphs, I have to save the garment with another name so I can do that.

Mon, Mar 04, 2024I installed version 4.22.0.16 and did a morph test with Hexagon.. I didn't see any problem
I started with a cube made with Daz,
send to Hexagon
modified in Hexagon
send to Daz (name morph01)
saved (Figure/prop Asset)
send to Hexagon
2nd modification in Hexagon
send to Daz (name morph01)
saved (Figure/prop Asset)
I left Daz
loaded the test file
the 2nd morph was well taken into account.
I have not done a test with a version of Genesis, I specify this because I know that it is your specialty

Mon, Mar 04, 2024In my case it is with the clothing morphs from clothing fixer, it doesn't let me overwrite them, but instead I change the name of the garment.
I will stick with G8.1 (and G8/G3 by extension, since they can be converted easily to G8.1) until a new figure arrives that shows significant improvements. G9 may or may not be slightly superior to G3/G8/G8.1, but the improvements are far too subtle, if they exist at all. Generally G9 renders look more or less identical to G8 renders to me. I see literally no reason to adapt G9.
As a bonus I'm far less tempted to buy new products at the official DAZ store now, since they're all G9 now. My wallet says thank you.
I'm loving how other stores like Renderhub have become the place to go for new G8 content.

Sat, Mar 09, 2024My feelings exactly! With DAZ pushing G9, I am no longer spending money over there. This is the first time in YEARS that I had not renewed my Platinum Plus membership. The only thing that I have purchased have been environment type packages which were not character dependent. Which means that I have more money to spend here on G8 stuff and hopefully someone will release some new G3 stuff.

Sat, Mar 09, 2024My purchases there are more less limited to cleaning out the wishlist on deep discount days (or I see something that fills a hole that RenderHub currently doesn't). Not too much more to go. Really, most of my DAZ spending has been here now. It probably shows, too.
I have actually considered to put out Genesis 3 version of some of my G8/G9 products. Working on one right now and then maybe bombshell legs. Sure it's not character's, but it's still something.
Back in the day Genesis 3 could stand alongside G8 and I think I saw over at daz market products that are for G3-G9.

Mon, Mar 18, 2024I'd like a G3 version of "SY Intense Muscle Genesis 8, 8.1, and 9" = https://www.daz3d.com/sy-intense-muscle-genesis-8-81-and-9
I'm late to the party here.
I just wanted to voice solid support for G8F / G8.1F products.
Whilst I have tried to like G9 I really cannot get on with it at all!
It is a huge step back for me & even now it still trails G8 badly for what I wish to use it for [Full body single frame renders]
So support G9 if you must, but please continue support for G8F / G8.1F.
Thank you.
