My Library (CLOSED)

Hello
after I bought several things here and as well got some nice freebies, I would like to make a suggestion.
Instead of naming the main folder "My Library" please take the product name.
I had to re-name almost every main folder, because I just had a long list in daz studio with folders, all named my library.
Guessing what is in which folder isn't fun at all and I think, I'm not alone with this.

Iv always opened that folder until you get to the individual folders that say "data, runtime and people" and copy those into the "my daz 3d library" on the computer.

Unless iv been doing it wrong all this time lol.

Tue, Apr 23, 2024Nope, it's just fine the way you're doing it
I just like to have my content clean, and anyhow, I always create a folder for a new product and open the zip in that folder.
So I can load it into Studio over "edit - preferences - content and so on"
If it's something, I use very often, fine, it can go into the main content, but otherwise I can remove it easily the same way as I put it in.

I have a "Parking" folder that I extract all my zip files to before transferring them over to my library. That way not only can I pull the files out of those extra folders before I slide them over, but I can review the folders, make sure that any characters have a .duf in the Characters folder, clean up folder names for easier indexing (taking buzzwords like "dforce" and moving them to the end of the title, abbreviating artist names, getting rid of unnecessary subfolders, etc). Then, when I'm satisfied with how it's laid out, I copy them to my 3rd-party library, then re-zip them in the format I want them in for archiving so I never have to do it again. The process, now that I've done it a few years, takes about a minute per zip file.
The more you have, the more that file management becomes necessary and handy.

Wed, Apr 24, 2024That sounds pretty good, special with getting rid of unnecessary folders.
The amount of folders for a product is (for me) ridiculous, but who am I to wish back the days, we just needed the important ones.
