Cascadeur indie license (CLOSED)
250I can't believe I have another deal just plopped into my inbox.
Because I tried a trial of Cascadeur that put me on some list and they're offering Indie Licenses for two years of the software to
those who had a trial account. I guess they're running out of users and money or something but two years is a nice bit of time for
free animation software.... that I haven't really used yet cos I"m kinda older and cranky. har har
Anyway, check your inboxes or go over to Cascadeur and see if there's a linktrail to get it free.
good luck.

I have the older 2023 version and here is the thing.
When Cascadure was first introduced the free license could export to FBX (Which is needed to get your animation data into your actual rendering program)
Now there was a 300 frame limit but that is not a show stopper.
when they introduced the new 2024 version all export functions were disabled unless you bought the $300 dollar "indie license"
But now you get the "indie license" free for two years which gives you back export functionality and the "new" features of version 2024 which are not anything ground breaking IMHO.
I have Autodesk Maya and Blender for my animation.
I see no reason to get the free "indie license" because my "old 2023 version exports to FBX and I have the installer and can run it for more than two years.
Cascadure would attract alot more animators if it they did something not possible or exceedingly difficult to do in Maya or Blender such
as Ragdoll collision physics
I recently did a video on this subject.

Oh... well then. Thank you Anabran, I sit.. corrected.
I must admit I've tried to get into Blender for years but one little problem kept getting in my way... back then I never was really able to find the LESSON I needed to learn "G"/grab and doing it with different numbers of vertices, passing the grab thru or not etc etc. And that just spoiled it for me. I finally got truly annoyed and just gave up. Now I'm older and I find that experience to be one monolith experience of frustration I never want to touch again. Which sucks... cos I love Blender for what it is, and I adore open source. Oh well.

Tue, May 07, 2024understand Its a decent offer if you want to learn to hand animate 3D Characters but I jump around alot between 3D & 2D animation software and prefer not to be under a time limit before the new 2024 "Indie license expires and loses the ability to export the animation out of the program unless I hand over $300.
My older 2023 version( with export ability) will never expire giving me time to eventually find use for it in the future with no count down timer running.

Hmmm, I may give a try... I love the idea of hand animating, it seems that it would feel more organic and "hands on". I have to admit a fascination with subtlety in my posing and scenes; I just find BIG THINGS HAPPENING to be boring as frack. SO, thank you.. mebbe this will motivate my silly ass.
