G8 to G9 (CLOSED)

hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help tell me what's the best way to convert a G8 character to G9? I tried a character converter but it didn't work that well. thanks in advance!

As I recall this is the method I used to convert a couple of my characters from G8 shortly after G9 was released

Wed, Jun 05, 2024thank you! I followed this tutorial but I have problem with the eyes and I'm not sure how to fix it
if you want to just use it personally then that video will be helpful, because IF I remember right that uses some sort of 'body suit' or something like that, and it's not really meant for commercial distro.
If you're looking for a commercial solution to be able to sell the end results, Manfriday over at Daz has the BEST converted out of the few commercial ones.
Just keep in mind you will most likely need to create a handful of JCM's to fix bend issues that happen by dialing up the hidden G8 dials in 9 (as that what the converters do) as I SUCK at making JCM's I've opted to give up trying to convert the bodies and instead just remake them by hand using G9 as the base.
Also depending on what your G8 heads are like the eyes will need to be resized and or adjusted, as will the eyelids in some cases (all of mine for example cause my heads are stylized) required eye adjustments, but that's honestly a lot less work then creating 14-16 JCM's to remove the horrid crease issues in the thigh, shin and shoulders from G8 to G9 conversions.

Wed, Jun 05, 2024thank you! will give Manfriday's character converter a try. I did have problems with the eyes, like the eye sockets were far too big and I have trouble fixing it
3DLoki is correct. ManFridays Figure Converter for Genesis 9 is the best and most reliable . The only problem I have are the eyes too far back, but very easy fix.

Wed, Jun 05, 2024I cannot correct the location of the eyes when the conversion concerns a morph which reduces the size of Genesis for example for a child.
If I do it on the final size of a baby Genesis, when I apply the morph the eyes are on top of the head!
My problem is accentuated because converted Genesis 9 has a scale = 106.2% and its head has a scale = 97.5%
Even when I set the scales to 100% for G9 and his head to modify the location of the eyes to create a morph that corrects their location, when I apply the morph the eyes are not in the right place

Wed, Jun 05, 2024oomphy, my fix for the eyes, is:
1. Select G9
2. In Parameters, type eyeball
3. Use the Eyeball Position Depth slider to bring the eyes forward making sure that it does not go through the G9 tear.
guy91600, Thats weird. I have not tried converting a baby, but I have convery children and it works fine (except for the eyes).
I make separate head and body morphs so when I use ManFridays Figure Converter, I check the "Auto-adjust Proportional height", "Create head morph" and "Create body morph" boxes before hitting the Convert button.
Thats what works for me.

Would the adjustments in Parameters work for adjusting the eyes of a "toon" style character to a more realistic look? I'm interested in a toon style character that looks realistic with the exception of the size of the eyes. If I could adjust them, I would definitely buy the character.
