Why Is It Always the Same Old Stuff That's On Sale?

If it's always on sale, it's never on sale. Why bother looking to see what's on sale if it's already stuff you've seen on sale a hundred times. Some stuff is on sale ALL THE TIME. You may not realize it, and you probably don't care one bit, but Canadians pay almost 50% more for every item. When you add up the exchange rate of the money, the percentagages for using PayPal and credit cards, the tax that's added here and there and everywhere - something has to be on sale for more than 50% discount for it to actually be on sale for Canadians. And Canadians happen to be the United States biggest trade partners. The total amount of trade in dollars between Canada and the US is LARGER than the amount the United States trades with ALL OF EUROPE COMBINED. If it wasn't for Canadian buyers, most American businesses would go bankrupt. You go into any large Canadian city's downtown shopping district and 90% of the stores are American brand name stores. Online, Canadians are focused on AMAZON, and WALMART, and EBAY. Here at Renderhub, 9 times out of 10 I won't buy something because when you add up all the costs on top of the price - it's just not worth it. I don't expect you to care, or do anything about it - I just wanted you to know your biggest trading partner is being alienated.

What can I say? Norway is as well paying a lot more, because we have an currency that's worth a sh*t.
So, if I want some, I'll wait, and buy, when it's on sale (and even then often not).
But as a vendor myself I also know, how many hours of work are involved, the material that maybe had to be bought in the first place (not everyone can create seamless textures) or what ever is in need to create something.
A program has to be bought in the first place and many of them are freaking expensive.
And all this money has to come in again.
So if a vendor put his stuff on sale, I'm happy, if it's on sale again and again, I'm still happy, cause maybe I'll have the money when it's on sale (again) and can buy it

Thu, Dec 26, 2024And that's not to mention that the seller will earn perhaps 50% or 60%, since he shares the profit with Renderhub.
Many clients want Do you want the models for 1 dollar?

Thu, Dec 26, 2024That's a way to put it. But the vendor don't "share" he is PAYING money so he can sell, doesn't matter if here or daz or renderosity or where ever one is trying to sell.
He has to pay for it, he's not sharing, that's a huge different.
Your question, sorry, I don't understand it. What do you mean? If I wanna have 1 dollar products, of i wanna earn 1 dollar?

Thu, Dec 26, 2024I mean, no matter how much you lower your product, people will always want it cheaper. Regards.

Thu, Dec 26, 2024The don't want it cheaper, they want it for free and best would be, if they would get money on top of it.

Thu, Dec 26, 2024It's like that in general - the customer wants to save the most money while the vendor wants to make the most money. It's all about finding the right balance.

Thu, Dec 26, 2024For me, the Daz market is one of the cheap ones here on Renderhub, the G8 products as well as their characters range from 5 to 16 dollars, which for me is very cheap, compared to other 3D products.
RenderHub does not allow us to sell things at 50% off
40% off is the best sale allowed
We also can't do flash sales, 3 days is the minimum
There are some good reasons for this that involve inclusion in the advertised sales that RH sometimes does

None of the products on my wish list are on sale all the time. They go on sale regularly, and I'm completely fine with that.
I don't see why it's up to RenderHub vendors to address the variations of international currency, by adjusting prices and bear any subsequent loss. Yes, I think a good argument can be made that inequity is involved, but that's a far larger problem than pricing of 3D assets.

Thu, Dec 26, 2024I second that!
If a vendor has to take in consideration the up and downs of any value, heaven help, they would have to calculate every day and there would still be someone, who isn't satisfied.

If you think RenderHub has too many and too deep sales periods, say hello to DAZ's official store! Over there, if you don't buy something at least 50% off, it's either because you need it now or you're doing something wrong.

What is this complaint really about?
Vendors not putting new products on sale?
The Canadian exchange rate?
PayPal and credit card fees?
Canadian taxes?
Canadians' preference to buy American goods?
I'm pretty sure the sellers here (nor the marketplace) can do anything about those things, except for your concern in the title of your thread. Regarding that, I don't see the problem. I see at least ten pages of 3D products on sale that have been released just this month. I see similar results for Daz products.
Have you tried setting your sort order to NEWEST when viewing the sale pages?

If I look at my sales, I belive I am stupid. The sales for 10 buks give me just 6 and the paypalcost are also cut off.
My net cost me 50 euro a month, not to speak over 38 cent per KW electropower. It says that only the power to
build a figure takes 12 to 16 h makes about 16 f....kin euro. To get it bak I have to sell at min 3 to 4 products.
For most of the vendors it is a minusbuisines, only the side get a win on it.

Every time I read a complaint like this, I give my standard response:
If you can't afford 3D assets, make your own.
A good number of "DAZzers" get triggered whenever I say something like that, but it's true. You don't need expensive software to make stuff. Now, what it does cost is *time* as in time spent learning and doing. I pass on regular priced stuff all the time because I know that I can figure out how to model it. I have a ton of indoor sets wishlisted on Rendo and I'm always passing them up because I know that if I spend some time on it, I can model something quite similar. It's something I should be doing anyway.
Look, I get it. We don't all have the same skillsets or experience. But I can guarantee that if you can figure out how to use Studio, you can learn how to use Blender.
So, you're complaining that the "same stuff" is always on sale. I assume that this is a hobby for you. Most of the people are here rendering 2D images of characters, as a hobby. And I can't help that your currency is weaker than the Dollar. I can't help that. Come on, bruh.
But congrats on politicizing DAZ Studio content. I'm so tired of this.

I don't understand Fauvist's message, I have two PayPal accounts, one in euros (normally I'm in France) and one in $ (on which RenderHub pays royalties)
As a buyer I use the euro account for my purchases in France and I don't have any fees from PayPal.
When I use the $ account for my purchases in euros I just have the exchange commission fees.
On the other hand, as a seller, things change completely, few RenderHub customers know this but
*) the royalty rate varies depending on the number of products in the store
in addition to the royalty amount, there are PayPal fees
*) transfer fees
*) the exchange commission
In short, currently when I sell a $2 product I earn 1 euro
I have family in Africa, to make a transfer to them I have the choice
*) a bank transfer: transfer fees 30 euros regardless of the amount which is limited to 50,000 euros and the African bank applies its exchange fee commission in local currency
*) a transfer via Western Union and by connecting to their site you have all the details of the fees.
In summary, as in all commercial transactions, it is the intermediaries who are the real winners, the more intermediaries there are, the more the customer pays.

Fri, Dec 27, 2024Well, then ignore the ones that are on sale all the time and safe your money for the one product you wanna buy.
That's life, we have to save money to buy stuff, we wanna have. That's how I grew up, saving money instead of opening a credit card.
Life isn't fair, so what, wait and one day you'll get what you want.

Fri, Dec 27, 2024I kinda get the sentiment - there are some vendors I see who I wish would pop in a sale here and there, but I'll still get it (eventually) if I want/need it enough or finally get around to it.
The sale/discount policy was one that took a bit of adjusting to for me, because, like I mentioned, placed like DAZ have deep sales on everything so often, they, like someone said in a different thread way back when, have their customer base trained on when to jump. Don't expect a "50%+ off site-wide sale!" here any time soon.

I am also canadian, I know the pain lol. CAD is taking a nose dive, I don't think it's going to improve anytime soon to be honest.
One thing that may improve your experience finding new stuff on sale. If you go to the daz on sale page, click on trending, and change it to new, you may have better luck finding some gems. Trending tends to be more popular items, and a lot of the time it doesn't seem to change much. On the sort by new method, I sometimes able to see something more interesting
