Sister Mercy
3D Render by maru_berlinStill trying my hand with the Mesh Grabber Tool.
Nice. Have you tried the Grabber in combination with dForce? You probably need to be a bit careful - and prepared for surprises with the buttons ... but the combi might give the clothes an extra kick though.

Sat, Nov 25, 2023I didn't dForce that dress at all, and usually when I even assign any other texture beforehand, the clothes explode. So far I used Mesh Grabber always afterwards for that reason, but I might give it a whirl. Interesting thought though, thanks.

Sat, Nov 25, 2023@Hannes. Also an interesting thought.. But should you bite the hand that feeds you? Especially if the other hand could hold a syringe or your meds...
Was exactly my intention (well, other than testing a new hair prop), thanks for noticing that.

@maru:
If you have time and interest, you might want to try the following quick and dirty trick:
After you have applied the dForce modifier to the garment, go to "Surfaces", scroll down and change the following presets BEFORE you start the simulation:
Collision distance: 0.005
Dynamic strength: 0.95%
Bending stiffness: 0.25%
Buckling stiffness: 0%
This should prevent most "explosions". If it still takes too long for something to happen, the garment is actually not suitable for dForce.
However, if it works, it can produce better drappings than if only the grabber is used. Then a few fine-tunings can also be applied to make the clothing looser or tighter fitting.

Mon, Oct 14, 2024It takes some practicing for both marking all vertices as well as choosing the right size of grabber sphere to move them, but eventually you'll manage it!
