Name That Song August 2025
3D Render by maru_berlinHere it is. Finally – and completely different to my origingal ideas for this particular piece of classical music at the beginning (I had a fantasy version planned).
Let me put you into the picture:
The futuristic setting of the image is no clue at all – and to find the solution, even the composer would have said "It’s hard, man!“ (At least phonetically, and if he had spoken English). Still, you can see the tedious process that's part of the original theme.
The piece only became really famous after it was covered by a Frenchman a good 100 years ago. But there were also other attempts to reinterpret this and all other parts of this piece of music, by Isao Tomita and Emerson Lake and Palmer a good 50 years ago.
Today the entire set is used to introduce children all over the world to the concept or program music.
For those who participated in the last round, the song in question was "She Moved Through The Fair", probably an Irish traditional, but maybe not.
Amongst the singers of this song for me Mary Black and Sinéad O'Connor stand out:
Congrats to Sidhelord, who named the song correctly first.
