Hmmm ... I actually like the original better (am I a heretic now?)
Have you perhaps tried, for example, putting a circle selection with a very soft edge around the tree in Photoshop (and then experimenting with the brightness etc)? Could possibly give a kind of inverted vignetting effect (which unfortunately is not possible in DAZ itself).

I wouldn't even know how to do it, and it sounds interesting.

I like the Photoshop scene better, except for the Christmas tree.
I think the Christmas tree of the original render would fit better to the photoshop scene.

I see, what you mean, the light from the tree are more clear (so to say?) or brighter.
I like that, that everyone can see something, that could be changed or made better.
