3D Render by LovecraftianPenguinAfter slowly moving through the remnants of the deserted cemetery, the girls finnaly tracked down their quarry, but how would they deal with it in it's own enviroment??
Just another render from my Unity/Daz fantasy test with some pics of my compositing process (I'm sure there are FAR better ways to do this but it's all i got for now)
Heres a quick break down of the workflow for anyone interested:
1. start a new unity hdrp project
2. download and import assets of your choosing
3. imoprt the unity recorder package from the unity package manager
4. set up recorder settings ie output file location, resoloution, recording mode (Single frame), source
5. run the "Game" and press f10 to capture an image to your folder location of choice
Fire up Affinity photo or your graphics programe of choice
1. Open the "Game" captured image take note of lighting
2. Open Daz
In Daz
1. Place your characters in roughly the postions you want
2. place any extra lights in the scene matching the colours/positions of any lights in the "Game" image
3. render out the characters with transparent background
4. Back to Affinity import the "Character" pngs in as many layers as required
5. Composite the layers together using masks and any adjustments you need
6. I always add a final layer of "Mist" a full screen colour set at about 5% opacity with a masked fog or smoke brush to tie all the layers together better
Anyway Cheers for the gander, cya in the next one soon!!

Hi, very interesting workflow. The scene and mood come across very well
I once tested something similar (importing figures from DAZ to Unreal). But it annoyed me because I just couldn't record it. Definitely worth a try again sometime

Mon, May 05Thanks, I have thought about using the Daz to Unity bridge but for now this seems to work, I've also thought about using Unreal but it's another tool i'd have to learn, i do have an account for their freebies though XD
Nice break down. I love it when people share the knowledge. Was always told to respect the people that explain things for they are a gift.

Tue, May 06Thanks very much! I could have probably explained it a little better, but i think i got the basic ideas down, I like how you add a detailed timelapse video to a lot of your posts, but i don't think id ever get the time for recording that much information myself.
Cheers!

Tue, May 06I usually map out the render from start to finish in my head before I start and use OBS to record the action. Anytime you wanna try it out don't hesitate as If it's my thing. I offer it to all and can explain everything easily if ya need. I use filmora as the video editing software, best I know of, but it cost a onetime payment of 60 usd. All you gotta do is remember to hit record anytime you work on the scene and when youre done load all the footage into filmora and smash it all down into a 100mb video hahaha Id love to watch someone elses video like mine.
we are all in this together.
