You Versatile Adventure Suit was such a great project to work on! The name is in fact and acronym, that we tried to render in a fantasy way.
The design is quite unique and stiking and, again, something we are still completely fond of after all these years (it released in December 2018)
The most unique feature though, it's certainly the belt with all possible props it can hold to offer and incredible variety.
It took a long time to set it up, but it was one of those projects that make you proud of the final accomplishment.
And we also learned how to create nice gifs to show the feature!
Other parts of the outfit have the same feature as well and it really adds to the complexity and completeness of Y'Vas.
Very proud of it

Are you planning to start selling content here on RenderHub? Smart move, but I would imagine DAZ won't like that.

Sun, Jun 08Very glad to see you selling elsewhere. A lot of people -- myself included -- either scaled back or stopped buying from DAZ completely, so being able to buy your products from other sites is much appreciated.

Tue, Jun 10Can I ask why the scaling back?
I am just curious as we have so little information about our users (well none, really, there are no stats at Daz, only the number of sales) and so little chance to interact with customers (no star system or some such, for example).

Wed, Jun 11DAZ's recent changes have completely pissed a lot of people off, judging from the comments in the various forums I follow. They've abandoned their previous business model of "make one version of DAZ Studio, give it to everyone for free, and fund its development by selling loads of content" in favor of becoming rental-ware, in which enhanced features and extra content are completely dependent on keeping the user paying month-after-month for eternity, rather than being separately-purchasable items depending on the customer's needs and budget. The user stops paying, then they lose those features and that content. DAZ bought up a bunch of add-ons, removed them from the store, integrated them into DS, and made their use completely dependent on the user's submission to the rental scheme. DS also now has a "dial home" requirement to periodically verify subscription status. All of this is total bullshit and I'm not playing along. Also, I'm not buying Genesis 9 content, so most of what DAZ is pushing these days, I'm not interested in, anyways.
Honestly, I expect DAZ to be sold or shuttered within the next two to three years (largely thanks to A.I.), but even knowing that DS will likely be a dead ecosystem in the near future, I'm still buying content, just not as much and definitely not from DAZ. I've been a fan of your work since I first discovered you back in my Poser 6 days, and I'd love to be able to continue to buy your creations -- just as long as it's not from DAZ, which is why I was happy to see you establishing a presence here.

Wed, Jun 11Ah, yes, of course.
Nodoby likes a ransomware move.
We are mostly unaffected, because we usually use other tools (product creation tools) to accomplish those goals, but it's certainly a big thing for most users.
We do not have any subscription ourselves as we do not appreciate this kind of approah either (the only sub we still cannot get rid of is Photoshop, because it has too many different features that we use an it's hard to replace as a one-stop solution), among other things.
It is also interesting to note that subscription, especially higher tiers, give people access to better discounts. These discounts affect all vendors products, but only Daz earns from the subs. Yep.

Wed, Jun 11Y'know, one thing I was gonna suggest to you was to reissue as much of your discontinued catalog as you can (all of the old V3, V4, G2F stuff) as a sort of legacy content reissue, either as individual items or as collector bundles. Sell that content as-is with no support but give the user a license. As it is, the only way to acquire the old discontinued content is to pirate it, and if they go that route, you gain nothing from it. But sell it at $5 apiece or $20 for a bundle (MSRP), and you've just opened up another revenue stream that I think a lot of users (myself included) would go for. By the time I started buying content seriously, a lot of your older stuff had already been taken off the market, and I would love to get those items, regardless of whether I actually ever got around to using them or not. I'd love to suggest the same thing to Michael Rak about his Sanctum Art content, but I've never been able to find his contact info.

Wed, Jul 09That's something we considered a few times, especially at the beginning as we were getting frequent requests.
At some point we also started re-packing older products for this purpose, but at the end of the day, even something seemingly this straightforward requires some planning, testing etc.
And there's always the fact that older products may have issues, incompatibilities etc.
Sure, you do say that upfront, but you are still going to check issues and even though you can't fix them, you spend time answering and giving advice.
Every time we thought about it, we realized it wasn't simply a matter of uploading a bunch of older products, it was something that would take too much time to make sense, compared to creating new products.
It takes a long time to create and optmize clothing for Daz Studio as we have high standards and do not want older product to, in any way, tarnish that.
We'd love to be able to revamp old concepts, but it's just something we do not have the time for.

Thu, Jul 10That's why I suggested labeling them as legacy and as-is, with no support, use at your own risk. Your stuff is being distributed in that exact same format at this very moment, except that you're not getting a dime from it. Sell it cheap ($5 per item, for example) and give customers a legal license, incentivizing them to pay even a little something rather than resort to piracy. I'm not saying you'd get rich selling legacy content, but I do think you'd get enough takers to make it worth your time. Considering that most of it was made for Poser, releasing that content in the format I suggested might even help to maintain interest in using Poser (which I honestly think could use all the help it can get these days, but that's a separate issue).
