Prya took the basket with their clothes and delivered it to the sisters who stood glaring at her and at Laura.

"Mistress Laura came across these garments in her tavern. She recognized them as yours and asked me to accompany her during their return," Prya said, extending the basket to the women, whose expressions had changed from anger to wonder as they saw what the basket contained.

Laura thought, "She must have been thinking of how to phrase that all the way here. No untruths but it will certainly lead to wrong assumptions about how Laura "came across" them."

Bláthnaid Sloani was all smiles. "We thank you, Mistress! I am overjoyed to have my only top returned."

Eubha Sloani asked, "Will you join us to celebrate the return of my trousers and Bláthnaid's top?"

"That would be most enjoyable, ladies, but we have to return to the tavern. A ship is leaving tomorrow and tonight will be their parting celebration."

Prya said nothing, continued to smile and wondered why Laura had said "we".
