Cloak 89 (Freebie Info)
3D Render by Pushee-RiMore of an experiment than a project — expandable and upgradeable (more morphs, better materials, etc.). But as a source of ideas for other producers or for users to try out/experiment with, it's certainly not bad, right?
INSTALLED AS A PROP
Like all my projects that are not Genesis version specific, this project is also stored as PROP (and not as Clothing).
BEFORE SIMULATION: START BONES FROM MEMORIZED POSE
Always turn this option ON! Even though the simulation takes longer, you will get better results with these settings. In addition, the meshes of the objects and the material presets are optimized for fast simulation. Just give it a try: "Render Settings" pane -> Initialization -> Start Bones From Memorized Pose -> ON
DFORCE IS A MUST!
Without simulation, this garment looks very strange and unusual. Really very, very strange, with strange behavior when following poses. But that doesn't matter, as long as you remember: dForce is not an option, it's a MUST!
INTERSECTIONS
Many poses cause the clothing and model to intersect. Don't let this bother you: it only happens before you start the simulation — afterwards, everything will look much better.
POKE THROUGHS
After the simulation, you will often discover poke throughs in some places. If you are generally satisfied with the result, you can remove the poke throughs using the Push Modifier. This is relatively easy:
Select the cloak and use (from the main menu) Edit -> Object -> Geometry -> Add Push Modifier
Switch to the "Parameters" pane -> Mesh Offset and decrease the value. 0.3 is sufficient in most cases.
Mesh Smoothing ("Parameters" pane) is enabled but turned off. You can turn it on to achieve a softer drape of the cloak. This also hides poke throughs that may be present.
THE MORPHS
As usual (at least in my projects), please use the morphs BEFORE the simulation.
THE "SIM" MATERIAL PRESETS
These presets allow you to control the behavior of 3D clothing during simulation. There are limits to what you can do, but you will definitely notice a difference. If you are satisfied with the simulation result and want to keep it, you can assign any other material preset.
Enjoy
