That sentence alone, yeah, it's crap, but take it in the whole with the others, it's about believe, love and hope.
And the second sentence says, that we see all somehow clouded, means, we lost what we were able to see as children.
Well, I'm not a bible person, and for sure never will be. So maybe I'm wrong, but that's my understanding from "Paul's Hymn to Love".
