Scavenger 01
Static Survivor and Canine Companion Props for Daz Studio — High-Poly + Reduced-Geometry
The streets are silent. Supplies are running low. Somewhere beyond the ruins, a lone scavenger keeps moving with his faithful dog running point.
Wrapped in a weathered navy-blue hooded coat and dark scarf, Scavenger 01 looks like someone who has learned to endure. A gray-white beard, worn gloves, sturdy boots, and backpack details suggest a long journey through a world that has forgotten comfort. Where has he been? What is he carrying? And what might he find around the next corner?
FREEBIE • STATIC SURVIVOR + STATIC DOG • TWO GEOMETRY OPTIONS
Two survivors. A thousand possible stories.
Scavenger 01 Freebie adds a human survivor (static, non-rigged Daz prop) and a canine companion (static, non-rigged Daz prop) to your Daz Library without requiring a Genesis base figure. Choose the original high-poly or reduced-geometry options to suit your scene and hardware.
Place them at the edge of an abandoned highway, standing watch outside a makeshift shelter, or passing through the remains of a forgotten town. Use them as a distant figure in the fog, fellow travelers on a dangerous road, or silent witnesses to the aftermath.
A Survivor for the Stories You Tell
Key Features
• Standalone static scavenger survivor and scavenger dog props — no Genesis base figure required
• Two versions of the same textured survivor: original high-poly mesh and reduced-geometry mesh (approximately 21,000 – 26,000 faces)
• Choose the geometry option that suits your system; move, rotate, or scale either complete prop
• Useful for populating background and mid-range survival and post-apocalyptic scenes with a survivor and canine companion
What’s Included
• 2 static scavenger human Daz Studio prop presets (.duf): High Poly and Reduced Geometry
• 2 static scavenger dog Daz Studio prop preset (.duf): High Poly and Reduced Geometry
• Texture maps in Runtime/Textures
• ReadMe with installation and usage instructions
Important Product Limitations
The scavenger survivor (both geometry variations) and the included scavenger dog (both geometry variations) are STATIC, non-rigged props—not poseable Genesis characters or rigged animals. Their limbs cannot be posed, and their integrated details cannot be adjusted independently or re-textured. Position, rotate, or scale each complete prop. The survivor and canine companion are best suited to mid-range scenes and background scenes; close-up results depend on the model, lighting, and composition. Reduced geometry does not necessarily reduce texture-memory requirements.
Quick Tips:
If either static prop seems to over-reflect lights or look "wet", go to the surfaces tab and drop the "Glossy Layered Weight" setting to "0.0" This will remove that over-reflect and/or "wet" look, but still allow the models to have light interact with them properly.
Creation Method:
The high-poly scavenger survivor and dog were generated using Meshy AI with 8K textures, converted to the Iray Uber shader with PBR texture maps assigned, and prepared as static Daz Studio props by 3DPixelPantry. Derived, reduced-geometry versions of both the survivor and dog are also included, providing high-poly and low-poly options for each character.
System Requirements & Compatibility
• Daz Studio 4.x or later
• Standalone static survivor and dog props; no Genesis base figure required
• Material appearance and performance vary with lighting, render settings, geometry selection, and texture memory requirements
Installation & Location
• Extract the ZIP archive and merge the included data, Props, and Runtime folders into a configured Daz Studio Content Directory (for example, Documents/My Daz 3D Library). Preserve the folder structure.
• Find the assets under: DAZ Studio Formats → [Your Content Library] → Props → 3DPixelPantry → Scavenger 01. Load either survivor geometry version and either scavenger dog geometry version separately.
• Double-click the desired survivor preset and the scavenger dog preset, then move, rotate, or scale each prop as needed.
• The dog shown with Scavenger 01 is included as a static prop; it is not a rigged or poseable dog‥
