I'm working on trying to make skin and surfaces look more realistic. In this one, I had a hard time getting the face lit well enough but still conveying a sense of being in the dark. Sometimes with these portraits, I feel like Cortes burning his ships so there's no possibility of retreat

Did it fail? Well, just add more coffee! There is no retreat! Haha!

The lightning is good, but I hate to say that the facial features simply do not say Pris/Hannah to me.
The relation of lips to chin and nose just seems to be a bit off, like being played by a male.

Thanks for the feedback- it's ok, she's always a work in progress for me. I have to say though, I've spent a lot of time studying her face and her features are by far the most masculine of any woman I've ever studied. Look at this jaw! Her bone structure in general is extremely masculine...

I think I can see why Mac says it looks a little off. Daryl's jaw is quite wide and rounded, whereas your Pris has a slimmer jawline which makes the angular jut of her chin seem more pronounced....just my two cents on an amazing pice of work.

Perhaps its the mouth in conjunction with the jaw. On the move Pris the mouth looks smaller. I would try some small changes and see how they effect the overall impression.
