Luxury Crystal Chess Set, Modular Board - Crystal Monarch 3D Model

Crystal Monarch is a luxury chess set in which every piece is a cut stone: a faceted crystal monolith held in a platinum bezel, cut only in planar facets (step cut, brilliant and rose cut). Six original piece designs make a full 34-piece set, completed by a modular 600 mm board with crystal squares, "the Crystal Field".

WHAT YOU GET

One ZIP package that contains:
- Six STL archives with the one-piece masters, one per piece design (King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook, Pawn)
- Parts archive: the 13 two-material parts (6 crystals, 6 setting rings, the King's cross)
- Board archive: the 17 board modules (STL) and the Print & Assembly Guide (PDF)
- One 3MF archive and one OBJ archive with the same files in those formats

PRINT SETTINGS
- Every file is a closed, manifold single shell with outward normals, in millimetres; the pieces and parts have flat bases
- Printer: high-resolution resin (SLA, MSLA or DLP), XY 50 microns or finer. Crystals and one-piece masters in a clear resin rated for optical clarity (smoke-tinted for the black army); settings and cross in a tough resin for plating, or castable resin for casting
- Layer height: 25 microns for final prints (fewer layer lines to polish out), 50 microns for test prints
- Orientation: every piece and part upright, base flat on the build plate, exactly as modelled; setting rings foot down
- Supports: none needed for any piece or part, the Knight included. Every downward facet rises at 46 degrees or steeper
- Finishing: wet-sand every facet (800 to 2000 grit) and polish or clear-coat it to transparency; plate or paint the settings and the King's cross
- Assembly (parts): glue each crystal's foot into its setting with clear UV adhesive on the seat wall only; glue the cross peg into the King's orb
- Quantities: 2 Kings, 4 Queens (one extra per side), 4 Bishops, 4 Knights, 4 Rooks and 16 Pawns, half in each finish
- Weighting: a small steel or tungsten disc in the bore hidden behind the bezel, covered by a felt pad (tungsten recommended for the Queens, Rooks and Pawns)
- Board: tiles and frame in SLS (PA12) or on a large-bed FDM printer (0.4 mm nozzle, 0.12–0.16 mm layers); crystal plates and corner jewels in clear and smoke resin, polished and back-painted. 52 butterfly keys join the modules
- Print a Pawn first to tune exposure, fit and the smoke tint

PLEASE NOTE
All images are renders that show the intended finishes (clear and smoke crystal, platinum and black rhodium). The files are print masters: the crystal look comes from clear resin polished to transparency, or from glass. The thin points (crown points, cross tips, ear tips) need a high-resolution resin printer.
