Expression Bridge — Convert G8 8.1 and 3 to G9
Your Genesis 8, 8.1 and Genesis 3 expressions, rebuilt on Genesis 9 in one run: ready-to-use Genesis 9 presets with thumbnails, halves and resets included. Free.
Expression Bridge is a free Daz Script that brings your expression library to Genesis 9. Press Scan (or point it at a folder, a whole content library, or everything at once) and it converts every Genesis 8, 8.1 and Genesis 3 expression preset it finds into a Genesis 9 expression preset. The new presets land in their own Converted folder with the originals' folders and names, each with a fresh thumbnail of Genesis 9 wearing it.
It does not just rename dials. It looks at what each expression does to the face and rebuilds that on Genesis 9 with Genesis 9's own face dials and face bones, so expressions built on a vendor's own morphs come across too. No extra morphs, no plugin, nothing to install.
Upper and lower halves stay halves, so they still mix and match on Genesis 9. "Zero" presets become Genesis 9 resets. The eye direction comes along. A report lists every converted preset with a quality estimate (most full expressions land around 90% or more) and everything that was skipped, with the reason. A stopped run picks up where it left off.
What you get Expression Bridge.dsa, the icon and tip image, and a README that explains every option. Drop the folder into any mapped Scripts folder, or run it with File > Run Script.
Compatibility Daz Studio 6 (not 4.24, that version leaks too much memory, this intensive process if ran in that version can cause your PC to crash and I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU RUN IT THERE). Made and tested on Windows. Converts Genesis 8, Genesis 8.1 and Genesis 3 expressions (female and male) to Genesis 9. Needs Genesis 9 and the base figures of the generations you convert from. Not supported: Genesis Face Controls presets, Genesis 1 and 2.
