Catalina II Military/Commercial Seaplane
This is the Catalina II, an aircraft model for Daz Studio from Causam3D.
In this form it is suitable as a high quality background prop.
There will be updates and add-ons coming in the near future to include rigging of the control surfaces and doors as well as interior modules for renders inside the aircraft. How far we go with this will depend a lot on feedback and response in terms of sales.
Why "Catalina II"? A few months ago as I was nearing this point in the vintage version of the PBY, I discovered that a company called "Catalina Aircraft" in Florida had bought the rights to the Catalina and were in early production of an updated version of the aircraft to fill a need for seaplanes by the military and also for the civilian market. So the old one is still here, it just has to be released separately. That's coming soon, we promise. (yeah we've heard that before LOL). I get it. But it's true.
How to find Catalina II in your folder structure. After you've unzipped Catalina II into your content folder of choice, look under
Vehicles -- Causam3D -- Catalina II MilCom
There you will find three assets: Catalina II MilCom complete subset, and two scripts which allow you to quickly switch the aircraft between flight mode and parked mode, and also to deploy/stow the wing floats for ocean shots. Catalina II has been a long time coming, but it is not the final story. There's more to come in the future!
To Use:
Navigate to the product folder and load the Catalina II subset. Then position it in your scene, select which flight mode you want and that's all there is to it.
Shaders:
We've included a few basic shaders for the metal skin, etc. These are self explanatory. Be sure that you select the surface you want affected in the Surfaces tab before applying it, as with all shaders in Daz.
Ownership Statement:
