Really happy with this environment, I managed to make a good use of the Jacuzzi water and play with lights. This is a good bargain for the price!
Soma Flat Module 1 - Render House for DAZ Studio
Thanks for looking at SOMA, a new rendering house from Causam3D. This is module 1, which is the building itself along with the solarium, doors, bay window and rooftop jacuzzi. Module 2 is the furniture items which are an easy chair, sofa, pit group and coffee table. Module 3 is the Bath Set which you have seen rendered several times in our Gallery. Modules 2 and 3 will follow very shortly, within 24 hours.
To find: After you've unzipped SOMA into your content folder of choice, look under
Architecture >>> Causam3D >>> SOMA
There you will find six assets:
1) SOMA complete set, which includes the building and all of it's accouterments.
2)SOMA flat with solarium, which includes only the building and the solarium attachment.
3) SOMA flat, which includes just the building with it's door and bay window.
4) Rooftop jacuzzi .
5) Solarium with its door.
6) World center sphere object which you can use to quickly zoom a camera view into the center of the room. To do this, load the sphere, select it from the scene tab, and then in your viewport click the "Frame Select" icon.
Load the complete set to see how everything works.
There are three brick textures, two beam colors, and numerous skylight options. You will find these under "Iray materials". Experiment with each in any combination to get the look and lighting that you want. There is a material preset in the Walls sub folder for revealing or hiding the solarium with a simple click.
The jacuzzi is glass bottomed, meaning that whatever is inside of it is visible from below inside the room. The center skylight can be hidden with a material preset in the Skylights material sub-folder so that it's material doesn't interfere with the water inside the jacuzzi. Note that the roof is large enough to be used as a generously sized sun bathing area for your characters to enjoy. This prop loads with the complete set and already is set up with the center skylight hidden.
Each of the doors is rigged to open and close either outward or inward.
That's it for this introduction to the SOMA building. There are two additional modules to the SOMA series. These include the bath set and furniture, and will soon be available separately in our store.
