Catania is an ancient port city on the east coast of the island of Sicily. It is located at the foot of the active volcano Etna, the summit of which can be reached along winding paths. On the central Cathedral Square there is an unusual fountain in the shape of a black elephant and a cathedral with exquisite decoration. To the southwest of the square is a fish market surrounded by seafood restaurants
