Early 18th Century English Plug Bayonet for DAZ Studio
Up for your consideration is an English late 17th and early18th century plug bayonet for DAZ Studio. Designed to fit the Queen Anne martial flintlock, it can also serve as a free-standing dagger prop for pirates, swashbucklers, fantasy/medievals or all-round people of action. Patterned after a mix of surviving originals, the bayonet and scabbard load separately and can be aligned and parented to each other in Parameters. Makers' marks are included.
Textures are quite detailed for a simple prop and are divided by material - the blackened oak hilt, brass bits and the iron blade. All respond well to tone and darkness changes as required for taste and light. An easy route when fitting the bayonet to the musket is to 'wink out' the wooden hilt in Cutout Opacity to reduce finite tweaking as it's a tight fit. The bayonet can be easily rotated in Parameters to align the cross guard for taste and camera drama.
The images show the bayonet as offered with only a slight tweaking of the blade's darkness for light.
Hope this little guy is of use!
