DazFace Pro — Character Toolkit
DazFace Pro — Character Toolkit for Blender
The complete toolkit for working with DAZ Genesis characters in Blender.
Facial expressions, pose library, limb pinning, eye tracking, camera follow, and multi-camera rendering — all in one panel.
Built by a character artist for character artists. Every feature was developed during real visual novel production, where creating dozens of facial expressions, camera angles, and poses every day is part of the workflow.
FACS-Based Expression System
Expression libraries with three categories:
Signature – handcrafted premium expressions
Essentials – 13 ready-to-use expressions included out of the box
Custom – your own expression library
Real-time Strength slider
Blend any expression from a subtle hint to full intensity.
Facial Regions
Apply only selected parts of an expression:
Brows • Eyes • Nose • Mouth
Mix upper-face emotions with different mouth poses to create talking expressions in seconds.
Mix Layer
Blend two expressions together with independent strength controls.
Smile + 30% Anxiety = a believable nervous smile.
Left / Right controls
Adjust each side of the face independently for natural facial asymmetry.
Mirror
Instantly mirror an expression while correctly handling directional controls such as eye direction and mouth offset.
Preset Management
Rename, Duplicate (including between libraries), Delete, with overwrite protection.
Puppeteer — Interactive 2D Expression Pad
A unique feature rarely found in Blender.
Assign four expressions to the corners of a 2D pad and smoothly blend between them simply by dragging the cursor.
Instead of manually tweaking dozens of sliders, discover entirely new facial expressions visually.
Eye Tracking & Head Follow
Eyes → Camera
Eyes automatically track the active scene camera.
Lock Active
Lock eye tracking to a specific camera regardless of the currently active one.
Head Follow
Head and neck naturally rotate toward the camera while the eyes maintain perfect eye contact.
The movement follows a natural hierarchy:
Eyes lead → Head follows
Automatic tracking axis detection with manual override.
Pose Tools
Bring DAZ-style partial poses to Blender.
Save and apply poses to individual body regions:
Torso
Head
Left Arm
Right Arm
Hands
Legs
Combine multiple poses in seconds:
Sitting pose
Crossed arms
Head tilt
No manual bone rotation required.
The Strength slider blends smoothly with the current pose.
Limb Pinning
Pin a hand to a table with one click.
Move the torso freely while the arm automatically adjusts using IK.
Features include:
Seamless FK → IK transition
Movable target control
Clean pin removal
Independent pins for:
Left Hand
Right Hand
Left Foot
Right Foot
Animation Tools
Insert Keys
Keyframe every FACS control with a single click.
Delete Keys
Remove facial animation keys instantly.
Auto Key
Automatically insert keyframes whenever Apply or Reset is used.
Clear FACS Animation
Remove all facial animation from the character.
Multi-Camera Render
Select any cameras in your scene and render them all with one click.
Each image is automatically saved using its camera name in the selected output folder.
No more rendering every camera manually.
Requirements
Blender 4.0+ (including Blender 5.x)
DAZ Genesis 8 & Genesis 9 rigs imported with Diffeomorphic
FACS controls available on the armature
Expression presets are stored as human-readable JSON files, making them easy to share, version, and use across teams.
Installation
Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Install from Disk
Select EmotionPresets.py and enable the addon.
The panel will appear in the N Sidebar → Emotions tab of the 3D Viewport.
