Protect Yourself from Scams and Phishing Attempts

Protect Yourself from Scams and Phishing Attempts
At RenderHub, we take pride in the trust and creativity that make this community great. Unfortunately, like on any online platform, scammers sometimes try to take advantage of others.
We would like to share some tips on how you can protect yourself from scams and phishing attempts.
-----
RenderHub will never provide you with a *random link* that sends you off-site for things like verifying payments or accepting refunds.
To assist community members, our Support staff might provide links to helpful information on well-known websites like PayPal or Payoneer - but these would be sites you should recognize. If you don't recognize the website - DO NOT CLICK THE LINK.
-----
Watch for variations of official Support usernames or those that are strangely formatted.
Scammers sometimes create fraudulent accounts with usernames that appear similar to official ones - using extra words, special characters, or variations of official-sounding usernames (like RenderHub_Support or Support-Agent).
Right now, official communications from RenderHub regarding anything payment-related will only come from these two account usernames:
RenderHub or RenderHub Support - (Spelled *exactly* that way)
If you are unsure if a message truly comes from RenderHub, you may verify it by clicking this link:
https://www.renderhub.com/my-messages?u=renderhub
If you don't see the suspect message in your history there, it did not come from RenderHub.
-----
Be cautious of language that sounds overly urgent.
Scammers often try to pressure users by claiming an urgent issue that requires your attention. Take a moment to pause and verify.
-----
If you receive a suspicious message, please click the report button immediately.
That way, our staff members can act quickly to remove all offending messages and terminate the fraudulent account.
-----
By staying aware and using the tools available to you on RenderHub, we can help keep this community safe, creative, and enjoyable for everyone.

I had a "weird" conversation this week, it was called "Renderhub Bot" (I don't remember what) and the conversation disappeared...

Fri, Apr 04Yes. As soon as a fraudulent message is reported and action is taken, the "ban hammer" initiates several steps.
One of those things is the removal of the message from the message center of all accounts the fraudulent user sent it to.
That way, anyone who hasn't seen it yet won't ever see it.

Fri, Apr 04I suspected he'd been banned. It's incredible how many scams there are everywhere, they're not afraid of anything...
Between phone scams 10 times a day, messages asking for bank details, and "Pro Studios" wanting our 3D models "to try"... we're served. Thanks again for the cleanup.
