Some changes were just made to how the system processes images.
Previously, PNG images were handled differently from JPG. This was clearly causing problems for your example images in the other thread. Now, the system automatically converts PNG to JPG, and the end results are much better.
Please upload some test images here in this forum thread, and also in your gallery. Let us know how it goes for you.
Thanks!

FYI - I forgot to mention... It looks like the system is processing image uploads in batches every 15 minutes.
That means you may have to wait up to 15 minutes before you see the "final on-site" version of the images you upload.

Tue, Apr 22, 2025Of course! We surely don't want people to have a bad experience.
So - Is this better? Are the end-result images what you were expecting?

Tue, Apr 22, 2025Yes much better. They are still at 24 bit and the 32bit image has compressed down to 24 correctly. I will update my gallery images and keep an eye out for any changes. Thanks to your self and the engineers.

Thanks for doing the tests. Please let us know if you see anything else wonky. Have a great day!

Sun, Apr 27, 2025Hi foxy, are any images stored before being compressed during upload?.
my entire gallery has been converted to 8 bit. I would have to go through and replace every image to fix this.

32bit transparent background png (worth testing it as we are here).REPLY

Tue, Apr 22, 2025Yea, by converting to JPG the quality is preserved, but you loose the alpha channel.
