Gallery: less constrained preview/thumbnail crop limits plea

Would be nice to have a somewhat more flexible crop size limit, it's currently a bit more than half image height/width in proportion regardless of image resolution. Also/alternatively it would be OK to be able to provide a separate thumbnail, like the store listings do. Thanks.

It's got to fit to the thumbnail grid, which can make cropping a bit weird for certain images.

Yeah I don't mean the proportions, it's fine if it's square, I mean the size/scale. Also fine if there's a lower limit of number of pixels, I mean if I upload a 2k-ish image and it makes me crop like 900x900.

They probably just want to keep the page loading efficient with standardize thumbs of a certain file size.

I am just realizing the limit for this is original image size, so I guess 600x600 of the original is a hard limit for the crop - it will let you crop a proportinally smaller part if the original resolution is big enough. Never mind I guess, I'll render bigger (even more reason to want "View at Original Size" tbh)

Fri, Apr 25Yea, it limits to 600x600 to prevent blurring. So if you render larger images it will allow you to crop smaller areas.

Fri, Apr 25I'm not sure how it figures out what to constrain the crop size to, it doesn't seem to be just pixel size (see below)
