Delete archived downloads
343You should be able to delete archived downloads because if you accidentally click download it stays in your collection.

Sorry, but that feature is not easy to add at this time.
There are a lot of behind-the-scenes things tied to user downloads, so we can't have them simply vanish.
If anyone else wants to voice their support for this feature, please do so in this thread.
If enough community members want the feature, I will put in a request for the coders to consider it for a future website update.
Thank you for your feedback.

Sun, Dec 14, 2025Does the archive function not serve this purpose for you?
Maybe a Hide For Items in Your Collection? o.O That Way You can Unhide something later?

Sun, Dec 14, 2025Indeed, this suggestion to hide a product is more sensible than deleting it, as it would prevent it from being selected again.

Sun, Dec 14, 2025I really like the idea of hiding them
Another similar option could be a third option (in addition to " Download " and " Archive "): TRASH CAN.
Downloads that are... um, let's call them sub-optimal could be moved there and would disappear from the general overview without being deleted.

Sun, Dec 14, 2025This is pretty much the point of the current setup. You can hide a product (archive) and unhide (unarchive) it later.
In any case, I have now opened a feature request for this and linked it to this thread.
As always, thank you all for your feedback. Feel free to add your additional thoughts.

It's important to keep a record of the downloads, linked to the users account. especially free items downloaded.
Otherwise, someone will download a product, delete the archive , and then think they can do anything they want with the product that was downloaded. It's not like some user haven't behaved badly in the past.

Here's the dissenting opinion and boy....am I gonna make friends....
Keeping track of, and backing up your purchases is YOUR responsibility. It's nice if a vendor provides something of a service but they go out of business or change hands regularly and you can't count on them being there. You've spent hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars/bucks/yen/escudos/pesos or whatever for content and it's up to YOU to properly archive it. Three separate spots is NOT too much and using some online service as one of them doesn't count. I have two computers one of which NEVER goes online. I have two large portable drives for my backups which I do every month. One of the drives stays at a neighbour's house except when I'm doing the monthly backup. I've got digital stuff going back over 30 years that I CAN'T afford to lose and a few hundred bucks for good portable drives is cheap insurance.
Making a list or record is also up to you and there's plenty of programs that will quickly make itemized lists (with pictures) of any directory.
Maybe a vendor (hint, hint) could make a 'backup-archive' FAQ for users. I can help.

Sun, Dec 14, 2025Upon reading the message from Bugg_png, I understood the opposite: that he wanted to shorten the list of purchased files (I assume he mainly has free ones).
But a topic or blog post on backup techniques and practical tools for listing the contents of a hard drive are always welcome
