Poll: Should RenderHub Migrate to better forum software??

I only frequent a few 3D/CG character website
along with twitter/X
The Reallusion forums
Blender artist.org
Daz3D.com
I am banned from Renderosity (shocker I know.)
of the three, Daz has the most outdated forum software
and still Daz's ancient forum software has a better linear experience, post editing and quote system than Renderhub.
Issue one: Text formatting.
Maybe it a Mac OS thing as I do my "internetting" on a 10 year old Imac because I refuse to let my newest production windows 10 PC near the internet except at the utmost end of need.
But things like brackets ,quotation marks etc completely vanish when I paste the text from my simple text app and have to be manually inserted in the forum post window.
Issue two : nonlinear reply order.
No need to describe it because we all deal with it and the only way to attach images or video is with a general thread
reply and the only way to correct a mistake in a general thread reply is to delete it and replace it entirely.
And if you make a mistake in a reply to a person you cannot even delete it for a replacement.
Are there any plans for new forum software here?

If I remember right, this question was asked several times in some threads, but never for itself like you did now.
And the next is, that there were answers like: We are thinking about it or similar.
I would say, don't put you hope up too high.

I'm on a wide variety of forums, many of which are hobby sites run by volunteers (sometimes just one person) and they all mostly run fine. They have their own foibles but we all learn to work around them.
Changing the software platform is a HUGE, MASSIVE, GARGANTUAN undertaking fraught with potential disaster.
If it works, leave it be. I'd sooner spend the day hitting myself in the groin with a hammer than get involved with such an undertaking.....again.

Sun, Jun 01Changing software is a risky, long and tedious undertaking, especially when existing data has to be reused.!
Migrating to a new platform is time consuming and a LOT of work. None of them are perfect either. Migrations with these platforms are always a pain in the ass, to put it bluntly. It's not worth all the headaches involved just to add a few perks.

Absolute answer.. No, not for the forums. Yes, for the image in the gallery.
My Opinion.. Forum is a distraction.. Improving the gallery comment system would (again, my opinion) be more topical and decentralize the conversations.
On linear order.. As I understand it, Reddit and Stack overflow use upvoting. Mention this as an alternative to a purely linear comment system.

The question would have to be, is there enough traffic to justify the costs involved. Don't know. As for the function, using laguage that is diplomatic, it's not that bad.
