Vendor feature suggestion

Hi,
As vendor I'm updating my products now and then (quite often lately) and I'm not sure do my customers get notified when I do so.
Would it be possible to add an option to the edit page to send an e-mail to everyone who bought the product that it was updated? Maybe let the vendor write the message also so we can state the changes the update makes.

Ah, that's why. I am getting daily notices, that a product has been updated.
I wondered, why it just doesn't stop.
You must have sent them out again and again, because of a lack of feedback.

I have updated "XY G9" like 3 times in last 2 days. It was actually updates not mails for the same update so if you have "XY G9" please update you copy.
OK so you all do get e-mail notification for updates. That's good to know. Still it would be cool if I could write the list of updates that would be a part of that e-mail.

Sat, Jul 19Yes, email and personal notification here at Renderhub (bell symbol)
When I update products I add an update list to the product listing
At the moment it's the best that can be done

Sat, Jul 19Thank you, I could do that but it would still be better if customer notification could contain that info.

Sat, Jul 19I do the same. I'll add a blurb at the bottom with the date and what I updated. But agree that it would be nice to have something that went out with what got updated instead of the generic notice we get as customers.
I find that most people do not update the product which makes me feel a little sad as a vendor as those updates usually have fixes or tweaks or additional items I added to the package so the the customers are missing out

Sat, Jul 19Many customers do not read their messages. I send out discount coupons for Causam3D and there are several regular customers who have never checked their messages.

Sat, Jul 19I get that. But I think it would at least make it more likely that they do update if they read in the notification itself that something is fixed that bugged them.
I had the same question. I made many enhancements, especially regarding corrections to my products. If I recall correct, support assured me that they will be alerted through a badge on their download button.

As a customer I'm always interested in finding out whatever changes an artist has made to their product. If an artist has gone to the trouble of improving or correcting something, I would want to know about it. Usually I get a message that something has been updated, but sometimes I find out by accident (when scrolling through My Downloads, for example). Often an artist will specify what they've changed, and I appreciate that. For me, a systematic way to learn about updates would be very welcome.

Sun, Jul 20Same here. I find it easy to check my messages to see if anything has been updated. I also like the contact with a vendor, even if it's automatic.
I would advice, keeping a record or perhaps for RenderHub to make it a first class citizen, a section where vendors keep a record. I manually do something like this:

As others have confirmed, customers already do get a notification when vendors update a product.
"...let the vendor write the message also so we can state the changes the update makes..."
There is already an open feature request for a "Vendor Changelog for Product Pages". I have added a link there to this thread so the coders will see it.
Hopefully, we can see that function added to the website. In the meantime, updating your product description as others have recommended is a good way to do it.
