Coupons (CLOSED)

While the coupons are a good idea, why can't the vendor be a little more selective about which items in his/her store will have that discount? As with sales, where a vendor is able to choose which items in the store go on sale and which ones don't, can't the same be done with coupons?

Hey there. Were you talking to Passion3D? They just posted a similar idea.
I think it could become a coding and administrative nightmare if this was vendor managed, especially when combined with all of the other options.
It would probably also be confusing for the customer trying to use a coupon in that way. They would have to know that a coupon is valid only under certain conditions, and might become frustrated when they get vague "coupon not valid" errors at checkout.
I know of a certain "other site" where this happens all the time. And those are "marketplace managed" coupons - not vendor managed.
It's always a good idea to make things easy for buyers, and not to complicate their checkout experience.
