Hello, something feels odd with the sorting logic of the site. I have just submitted a product, and when I go to the marketplace to check, it is not on the first page, but rather on the second page, quite far down. Please note that I am sorting by newest in the characters category, and my safety setting is moderate, which should filter out quite a bit.

I noticed the same happens with the "on sale" page too before. Even right after I put my item on sale, I end up on like page 5 lol.

Thu, Aug 14Actually, I just tried it. Had to doom scroll to page 12 in trending to see my first product.

Thu, Aug 14Hee hee hee. I hadn't checked that one myself. But for new items, they do not remain new for long, so the little time they spend in the spotlight gives them a chance to reach people who might otherwise never see them, as by default one goes into trending.

Thu, Aug 14That's why you make a couple of product for free, if someone like a product you made they might go to your account to see what else you did, it's better than trying to be found through thousands of other products.

Thu, Aug 14Haven't thought of that! I have a good candidate for that if I spend some time improving it (brainstorming on the spot)!

Thu, Aug 14But still, the newest filter should at least prioritize the actually new items, in my opinion. It is like sorting by price but getting the pricier ones first instead of the free ones.

Can you give me more details about your situation? From what it sounds like, that would be the expected behavior when sorted by Trending.

Thu, Aug 14Oh I see. I figured stuff that was just put on sale would be bumped to the top page, guess I was wrong.

Thu, Aug 14No, the "On Sale" pages inherit the same sort orders from the main marketplace pages - but just showing sale items. However, there is an open feature request for additional sort orders for the On Sale pages: "New On Sale" and "Sales Ending Soon". Would you find those useful?

Thu, Aug 14I would certainly not complain about new search algorithms being added lol. Would be pretty cool to see them.

Fri, Aug 15Sounds great! I have added your feedback to the feature request. Hopefully, we can see these additional options soon.
@Luxe Muse -
It appears that the "newest" placement order of your product may have been affected because it was started as a draft. When sorted by newest, I see your product appears alongside other products submitted on August 1st.
Can you confirm if that is the case? Was this a draft item started around that time, and just now published?

Thu, Aug 14Perhaps I shouldn't use the draft feature again, I just didn't know it would affect her debut.

Thu, Aug 14Thanks for confirming. "Newest" should be based on the date the product is released, not on when the draft was started. So this is a bug, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
People should be able to use the draft feature as intended without this unintended result. When you get ready to plan your next product release, feel free to send a message to Support to make sure the bug has been fixed if you want to use the draft feature.

Thu, Aug 14Thank you very much, and there is no need for an apology. It is good that the sorting mechanism is not incorrect, and just the draft feature is the one that behaves in this manner, which is fine if you are planning on releasing a draft the same day or the next, but I let it sit for too long as I was actually crafting Yunae (took me a month).
So, if you are reading this in the future, I will still use the draft feature, it is a great tool if you don't have everything ready, but I'll use it only if I plan to release it on the same day or the next day at the latest. The RenderHub Admin above resolved my issue for me and for the kind people who had already purchased my newly released product, in record time, thank you very much! And thank you, everyone, for chiming in and helping out as well, I don't think I'd find a better community elsewhere!

Fri, Aug 15Thank you for your kind words and for your understanding. I'm glad to hear that solution worked for you while we wait for the bug to be fixed.

Fri, Sep 19UPDATE: The draft item bug has been fixed.
Products will now correctly appear as new per the date they are published.
Using the draft feature will no longer cause this problem.
Thank you for your patience while we were getting this fixed.

Sun, Sep 28WOW! That was fast. I'm pretty new here, but I've already noticed the admin response here is top-notch. And the community is super nice and helpful too. It's a way better experience than two other Daz stores I won't mention by name...

Sounds like the sort order might not be updating instantly could be a caching delay or moderation queue affecting where your product shows up.

Mon, Sep 22Hello!
This issue was fixed by Renderhub
It was related to creating a draft in advance, and upon releasing, the product adopting the draft creation date.
I can confirm the issue is fixed, as Adult Yunae was released from a draft created days before, and it showed up correctly upon submitting to the store.
