Forum Functionality Wishlist | Feedback Requested
Currently, the top website feature request is "forum functionality improvements". I'm pleased to announce that the owner will be making this a priority, and we're asking for your feedback.
Feel free to mention or link to examples on other websites, or share screenshots of functionality that you like. The more details you provide, the better idea we can get of what people want.
This is your opportunity to shape the future of the forum experience on RenderHub, so please share your thoughts.
Thank you all for your valuable feedback.

- What functionality would you like changed?
- What do you find cumbersome or needs improvement?
- What specific features would you like added?

Member tagging (unless this feature is already available and I just don't know how to do it)
Though not really a *forum* feature, maybe image attachments for PMs - seems to be the only section of the site where we can't place an image at. That could come in handy for feedback, WIPs, and other things that you may not want the masses to see (yet).
Post editing. Screw up a link, typo flies past you until it's too late, that sort of thing...

The creation of a "Support and Updates" forum
The latest message in this thread should be at the top of the page and the oldest at the bottom.

For some time now, I've been missing (but maybe I'm just too stupid to find it) the link list/sidebar with the latest posts in longer threads. I found this to be a simple solution for putting posts into context. Without this list, you currently have to scroll from top to bottom (and back again) in long threads if the latest post refers to another post in the middle.
It would also be nice to be able to include images when replying to a post.
I also have the feeling (but I could be wrong) that there are no notifications for older threads. It would be nice to receive notifications throughout the entire lifespan of a thread, even if a new entry is made after several months.

Many of us have stated this already but here's the condensed version....
-Ability to edit posts,
-Ability to add pictures to posts.
-'Regular' forum software like most sites use. Having mini-threads inside the main thread gets clumsy and hard to follow.
Otherwise, the forums are well managed with just the right amount of moderation.
Thanks folks and happy New Year's!

For me it would be:
- Mentions, that would be nice.
- Allow editing or deleting subposts, or better yet, replace subposts entirely with quote replies.
- We should focus on art alone, full stop, not politics. The same goes for AI. AI is the antithesis of RenderHub and not a friend to it. People come here to buy art, not for news or free AI-generated images or LLMs. This is simply the wrong place for those things.
- At a minimum, there should be tags that one can use to flag content as having adult image links, something people can easily identify before jumping into the thread blind.

Tue, Jan 06Regarding tags, perhaps we could also allow user tags, but from a predefined set that Render Hub provides for people to choose from, rather than letting users make them up. That way, we would know others’ opinions. The author might not think something is that edgy, but others could have a different view.
It would also be nice to know who applied a particular user tag, so an author could reach out to them and discuss it. But yes, all of this might be too complicated, and I’m probably getting into the weeds that I wouldn’t even know how to navigate myself.

Tue, Jan 06I agree.
If R-H is counting feature requests.. please add: Mentions, quote replies (or the ability so long as there are not replies under it), focus on art (I would get rid of these forums and improve the comments for each gallery post), and top level flags for adult topics.

Tue, Jan 06I see what you mean about the gallery. I think it is more valuable than the forum itself. We could let a gallery post become the main place for people to chat, since it already has that ability. We could remove the forum entirely or reduce it to just a basic support feature. If someone wants to chat about figures, clothing, and so on, they can simply check out the artist's gallery.

Tue, Jan 06Good point about the politics and AI.
Some forums have a thread called (for example) 'The Thunderdome'. Folks can go crazy in there and the rest of us can (wisely) stay away. This lets people get stuff off their chests.

Tue, Jan 06@Luxe_Muse.. exactly. While the Forum is a point of interest, it is very distracting, distressing, and prone to drama. It would be nice to see more commentary on the images we create.
@Bobb.. yep.. I would argue that the R-H version of your "Thunderdome" is the "Latest Posts" page. If it didn't exist, I wound't go; but it ford and draws me in like spicy gossip or locker room rumors.. bad stuff.

Tue, Jan 06Wise words indeed, Bobb. That is a great idea too. I am not really keen on suggesting words need to be policed or silenced.
I feel it is kind of awkward for customers to come looking for, say, a DAZ tutorial or questions on Blender, only to be confused by some conflict they probably do not (or maybe they do) care about, which might leave a bad impression on the customer, if this makes sense.
*But, but, please, an edit feature for posts is paramount, hi hi hi, more important yet than anything for me and my typos.*

Also.. alt text for embedded youTube videos.. Those videos are not visible in Safari, it would be nice if the link was there.

Tbh I'd prefer a forum that behaves in a more linear fashion like most others - that or better navigation on mobile.
The current sub-thread style of board is manageable on a PC browser but a nightmare on mobile.
At the very least a jump to new posts (or most recent) feature is needed.

Revert the whole thing you're trying to do with weeding all the males out of the main gallery, it's a really shitty look for the site.

Thanks for this, I believe we need:
I believe this changes will be good in the gallery too, I had to delete this comment 2 times because I found errors lol.
Thanks!
- Option to edit comments we made
- Delete\edit replies we made in comments

Sun, Jan 18I am worried that an edit button can be misused or abused after long after a comment or reply has been posted (rewording to make replies and in post comments look bad). Suggesting a time limit (to allow folks to fix honest typos) on edits as a safeguard.

Sun, Jan 18Yeah that's something to worry, I believe they can add a "edit history" like DeviantArt has so people can't turn it in a "no man island".
1- option to doawnload my owen products
2- abilite to completly delete my prodocts
3- abilite to buy from the site with my royalties without withraw them
4- get notificatin on sells and suspanded products instead of an email
5- abilite to send pictures and files on private messages
6- abilite to replay to rated items
