Selling of metadata for DAZ smart content
100I'm curious if I would be allowed to sell metadata files for products across all stores that do not have smart content support. I would only be including the .dsa and .dsx files since those are created by me and I have no rights to the image files unless I also create my own (not currently planned). I do this process for all products I buy for my own library and because it's so tedious, I figured I could put them up for sale for people that don't want to deal with it but do want to use smart content.

I think this would be a service to the entire community, and people would be interested. I do not believe it would be nearly as illegal as simply describing a product in your own words. In other words, not illegal at all. You would be selling your own files, with your own descriptions of other people's products.
Now that I think about it, everyone who ends up in your database (the metadata) should be inclined to promote your product, at the very least. Just my two cents. What you have set out to do is not easy, in terms of the amount of work involved. So I can only wish you good luck if you decide to go ahead with it.

Sounds like an add on.. or something that could be sold as an add on.. Maybe those rules (if any) would apply.

So the way I currently have it setup, each product is assigned to the store that it came from instead of "LOCAL_USER". If I distribute it this way then the user would have to run a script to add a store like RenderHub to their database. This would only have to be done once but I'm wondering if I should just leave it as "LOCAL_USER" for ease of use. There will already be some manual setup involved with some products where I've corrected file name spellings, paths, or added missing presets. I would appreciate any opinions.
