This seems to have changed recently, DAZ content is now filtered from the regular "Free 3D" results, and you have to go to the Marketplace pulldown -> DAZ Content -> finally you get a top bar option for "Free DAZ content". Clunky, counter-intuitive.

probably should have posted this in Suggestions, oops
anyhow one suggestion: if it's really important to filter the DAZ stuff from the main listing then make it a top bar option after you click "Free 3D" where a user is probably going to look first when seeking this category.

Sat, Jan 10This raises a good question in my mind. Is DAZ the category that RenderHub sells the most? If so, it would probably make sense to ensure that DAZ content freebies shine above all else. If that is not the case, then I think these changes would make sense, in my opinion.

Sat, Jan 10I mean I can see why they'd want to filter it one way or the other, just since it's a pretty obvious gateway to people buying stuff it should be a little easier to browse to than this.
I am all in favor of anything that is easier, Excessive, but there is also this:

Unless perhaps I am not quite understanding what you mean. That would not be awkward at all, since English is not my first language.

Sat, Jan 10I suppose RH has likely weighed what generates more revenue for them and allocated the screen space accordingly. However, this could also be turned into a dropdown and satisfy both markets.
Free -> [3D] - [DAZ Content]
Free -> [3D] - [DAZ Content]

Sat, Jan 10Or if you hit the 'Free 3D' link it could be a top bar option there, in place of the redundant 'Free 3D' link when you're already at that target
Renderhub is a platform that offers not only DAZ content, but also great 3D objects. To get a little closer to solving your puzzle, you can simply compare the page numbers for Free 3D and Free DAZ content

And please don't throw virtual sour pickles at me for this comment

Sun, Jan 11I understand. That's why I said that it really depends on what Renderhub thinks drives more customer engagement. (Well, not literally, but that's what I implied.)

Maybe the numbers have dwindle, and they just are not the traffic driver they once were.

Sun, Jan 11I can see by my own postings that D|S free content traffic is 2-3 times what it is at Renderosity, where' they're the primary thing on offer, so I don't think it's that.

Mon, Jan 12yes, but relative to other 3D content, the demand for daz content is shrinking at an exponential rate, whether it is at rendo, or here, for at daz. there is a very slow new uptake for daz content.
either way, not biggie on the change of site page navigation. if there was a link on Free 3D page to free Daz that would be good too.

Mon, Jan 12this just ... isn't really correct, I don't know where you're getting that info but activity for my free stuff at least is consistently pretty high.

Tue, Jan 13free doesn't matter, people collect stuff for free, it's the plopping down of actual dollars that matters. And sales don't lie. they tell a story of decline.
Actually, we did this to make it *easier* for Daz users to find free Daz assets. The way it used to be all mixed together made it more difficult for both Daz-users and non-Daz users.
The new system changes the main menu to Daz On Sale and Free Daz Content if you're in the Daz section. Is that not a logical way to do it?

Sun, Jan 11It's fine if you wanted to filter it this way, I'm just suggesting using the redundant link space on "Free 3D" target:
https://www.renderhub.com/free-3d-models
once you're already on that page, the link just ... takes you to the page you're already on, so I'm suggesting putting a link to DAZ free stuff there instead.

I feel that the way it's presently set up is just fine. One extra click either way is no problem.
Maybe people are just being excessively fussy?

I'm a Daz user and a RenderHub vendor (of free items only) and I never even knew this store category, "Free Daz Content", existed until I stumbled upon this very forum post.
This should tell you something. This should be a red flag that the method by which this categorry is presented is a failure.
I live in poverty. I therefore focus on free items. I therefore always just click on the main menu bar thing that just says "Free 3D". And today I learn that all the Daz-specific free items have been filtered out of that category. I'm like "WTF?"
Well, maybe this method of presenting Daz-specific free items is actually doing what RenderHub wants: which is to avoid serving free-loaders like myself who never buy anything.
So. The only way to find Daz-specific free items is to first try to find the category for Daz-specific items generally, and THEN find the sub-category of that for the free items. Quite an effective way to hide so much free stuff from free-loaders like me. We free-loaders will just head for the general "Free 3D" category and never see the Daz-specific free stuff. Way clever.
Ya. So the store categorization is biased against the mindset of free-loaders. That's RenderHub's prerogative. Emotionally, it just hits me a bit like an insult.
But really, I have no objection to the existence of a Daz-specific free item category. I love it. But is it really necessary for this Daz-specific free stuff category to be ABSENT from the general "Free 3D" category?

Mon, Jan 12Like you, I rarely buy products for the simple reason that I know how to make them myself and I find what I need among the free ones. On all sites, I use the price sorting function from lowest to highest, so I find the free ones at the top of the list. I've never missed the free button, and I didn't even know this button existed before reading the thread!
I admit my view is very limited: I'm strictly a DAZ user. I only look at DAZ content, and the new set-up works really well for me. Having everything all lumped together, again, for my limited view, was annoying. It didn't deter me from shopping for free items (which are fantastic here on RH), but it's a less aggravating now.

Still think you should make use of this redundant top bar link on this page:
https://www.renderhub.com/free-3d-models

it takes you to the page you're already on, you could change it to link to the Daz free content page.
