Imagine my surprise when I selected a free product today and got the notice that I had 4 more free downloads for the day. It used to be 10! What happened?

If the problem is reducing download traffic in MB, then a distinction should be made between purchases and downloads: this way, you could take advantage of current offers and then download them the following days!

Really disappointed. The entire spirit of this niche of the internet is open source. I love to visit this site frequently and explore the free things available. Just like all things, monetization seems to be more important than the community core.

it even counts for downloading items you already have! meaning i can only get 1 or 2 downloads total due to this!

It's annoying but not a deal killer. I wonder how many people were regularly downloading 10 a day to cause this. I might have gone over 5 a couple of times, but I usually don't go searching for freebies and giving you a warning when you download one is going to get the attention of a lot of people that didn't even know there was a limit at all.
