JCM hell
192Can anybody help or does anybody know a tutorial, that shows how to deal with three joint rotations and one specific JCM.
I want to do a lotus seat position.
-One JCM that corrects the thigh bending
check, done that
- a second JCM, that corrects the side rotation, but ONLY when the thigh is bent.
check, done that one too.
But how do I add a third JCM, dialing in, ONLY when the thigh is bent AND to the side?

I don't know if that helps. Personally, I stay so far away from JCM that they're not even in sight anymore

In one of the threads, I found the reference to the timeline interesting, and in the other, the reference to YT videos by Josh and/or Sickleyield.

You are already almost there. The hardest part is right there in your pocket, which is the actual morph itself. Once you do it a few times, linking your JCM becomes second nature.
The key is making sure it stays constrained to your character. Sometimes we either get in a rush or simply forget to do that, and suddenly every character starts loading the unconstrained morph. It happens a lot. You already have a character or body controller or morph, and you mentioned you already have a thigh bent morph, hopefully constrained to your character.
If you have both JCMs, one for bent and one for side, it is simpler, because those two areas are already constrained.
Example:
Bent:

Side:

Corrective for when both are applied:

(This isn't an actual Amelia JCM (but is close). I just did this as an example.)
If you don't need or have a side corrective because your character doesn't need one, and it only needs to be used when the thigh bends, then you can use the actual side controller with your bend corrective for it like so:

But here, you might want to use Keyed ERC and lock the positive or negative value, or the starting degree where your morph should begin to be applied to the bent.

Tue, May 19The generation doesn't 100% matter, I just had Amelia G9 handy for the shots.

Tue, May 19Thank you for your kind help. this will take me a while to get through.
It is quite confusing and takes a lot of focussing.
Since this is a character, that I'm not familiar with, I am missing context.
So what you are doing here is, to use the morph for the x-rotation, as a 2nd stage controller for your z-rotation.
Here is, where my lack of understanding starts:
With this example, I needed the x- and z-rotation combined (as a 2nd Stage controller) to allow a JCM dialing in with a y-rotation.

Tue, May 19It's okay. And I'm really not great at explaining either, so I hope I can help.
Basically, I tried showing two ways of doing it, which might have added to the confusion. But you don't need x-z direct rotation.
You only need that in cases where there is no out-of-the-box DAZ base JCM for your Genesis character, whichever generation it is.
So, let's set that aside for now (the X-Z rotation). I'll use a G8 character next. Just give me a few minutes to gather some screenshots and write.

I'll do it here, so I can paste images, Masterstroke.

In Amelia for G8, I have one JCM for when her left thigh is bent forward 115 degrees. That JCM is ERC linked to pJCMThighFwd_115_L (Genesis 8 Base JCM), and Amelia's G8 body morph (second stage). I named it FBM_LxM_Amelia_G8_body for reference. So it does not load for any other character than Amelia. The morph for the bent forward I called LxM_Amelia_pJCMThighFwd_115_L (Ignore any other JCM in the picture above that I don't mention, they are more in the picture because I made more correctives for different stages of the same rotations)
You already know how to do this part (if I understood your original post), but I will share screenshots for others who might not understand.
This is how that bent ERC looks:

For her side rotation, I have another JCM that handles just that. It uses the same setup. The base Genesis 8 JCM is "pJCMThighSide_85_L," and my JCM name is "LxM_Amelia_pJCMThighSide_85_L." and also linked to her body (second stage).

Each one of the previous JCMs handles its own rotation independently. But when they are mixed, which is the issue you have, it is a nightmare. Still, both JCMs will be active on the character if the thigh bend and side dials are set.
Now our third JCM will address the weirdness of them both together. Instead of linking it to the body morph, I will link it to those two JCMs I already made.
Why not to the body? Because those other two JCMs already only become active on Amelia for G8 and for the rotations we want, so there is no need for anything else. Now I am linking the new JCM to only those two.
As a reference, I named it "LxM_Amelia_pJCMThighSide_85_Fwd_115_L" after both rotations for consistency . Although I bet there is some heresy in my naming conventions for some of them, and for that I am sorry, hi, hi, hi.

I should have explained this earlier, and I realize you have already worked with it, Masterstroke, but for others who are new to DAZ. That hierarchy picture thingy is the "Properties Hierarchy" tool. (Window -> Pane -> Properties Hierarchy).
To configure your join restrictions and behavior, you must be in "Edit Mode".

The process is not complicated, but you need to memorize it. Using the name of the JCM (corrective morph) you just imported via Morph Loader Pro, you filter the Properties Hierarchy. Your Controllers' first and second stages will be empty. You then simply drag the corrective you want yours to follow to the first stage, and your restriction to the second.
I'm sure there are other terminologies out there to reference the same thing. I'm sorry if what I used isn't exactly the same. English is not my first language.

so, thanks to everybody helping.
I got it done, but will ask again, because, as long as I don't do it every day, I will forget, how it works.
Even now, I quite don't remember, how I did it.
even worse, that my JCMs are a bunch of chaos. At least no crashes or duplicate formula errors.
Again thank you for helping.

Sun, May 24Anytime, Masterstroke, and if you want help with the chaos, just ask. In my own chaotic responses, I'll try to help, or at least brainstorm alongside you.
