I was converting a PNG of my work to JPG, when I saw this:

Not "No," but HELL NO. I work in Daz Studio with 3D aftermarket assets that were either given away for free or purchased in a way that ethically compensated the vendor. I'll occasionally make a few modifications in ZBrush, and I postwork my renders for color balance, painting out janky geometry, and such.
At no point did I generate any of this.
Unless they're now injecting it into their everyday editing tools, in which case I can't work as I used to in Photoshop without being mis-labled.
If that's the case, it's Adover. The fact that segments of my target audience maybe has simplified ideas about what does and doesn't count as "real" AI is besides the point. Perception is reality. And I'm not tainting my creative process with even the perception of resorting to automated plagiarism. I may not be the greatest artist to walk the earth, but this is not a joke to me.

Did you click on the "learn more" button to find what the silliness is about?
And which version of Photoshop was it, I'd like to test it.

Wed, May 27I can't add a screenshot here, but the linked web page said this:

Use Content Credentials
Last updated on Feb 23, 2026
Learn how to add attribution details and edit history to your images in Adobe Photoshop using Content Credentials.
Content Credentials allow you to attach attribution information and editing history to your images when exporting from Photoshop. This feature helps establish transparency with your audience and ensures proper recognition for your work as it travels across the internet.
Select Window > Content Credentials (Beta).
Select Enable Content Credentials.
Tip
Go to Photoshop > Settings > History & Content Credentials and select Enable for saved documents with Content Credentials to enable Content Credentials by default for all new documents.
Select Enable for new and saved documents with Content Credentials to ensure edits are captured from start to finish.

Notably, I'm only seeing this on this one image from the series I'm producing. I'm trying to brainstorm what I did differently in this one, but nothing is coming to me.

Seems is something had happened before:

Well that's a mess. If they are sticking it in the metadata of the picture though you can always edit it out.

I'm still using Adobe version 2024. I refuse to update for reasons like this. I have downloaded affinity and also recently bought ON1 Raw on sale in case Adobe tries to force me to use their newer versions with the AI issues. I pulled most of my newer images from Pinterest because their stupid bot was tagging everything I uploaded as AI. I'm not going to report every single image I upload to have the inaccurate AI tag removed. After the 5th time making a report on yet another image I got sick of it.

I'm in 2022, and honestly, no reason to upgrade. If for some reason it stops working, I'll switch to IMP and be done with them once and for all.

For better or for worse, this is becoming a dead end. Absolutely every program will end up integrating AI, like it or not; Daz Studio and Blender already have integrated AI.
However, there is a difference between using tools with AI and using generative AI-there's actually an article here on the blogs that talks about this topic.
Over a year ago, I got into a controversy here because I mentioned that I used Luminar for post-production in my work. Right away, some users reported me and even shared screenshots showing that Luminar claims to have AI technology, and RenderHub ended up deleting several of my images (before they had a dedicated gallery for that). Luminar is NOT generative AI, nor is it an image generator; it's just another Photoshop.
Anyway, there is no escape.
You walk into a modern, automated, and fully equipped kitchen: you can choose to use the smart utensils and focus on creating, or use nothing but a single burner. Either way, everything will still be labeled as a 'smart kitchen.

Thu, May 28It's not the updated "smart tools", it's the little issues that keep popping up because of the "smart tools". Pinterest was labeling anything with photo info from Adobe as created using AI tags, which were entirely inaccurate. A lot of people were upset about that, and rightly so.

Thu, May 28This dumbfuckery is only inevitable if we keep putting up with it. The Cartel are not our masters, and we are under no obligation to accept their prophecies if they are unacceptable.
False positives, "hallucinations," and no-opt-out subscription serfdom are unacceptable. And that's not even getting into the hazards of the deliberately malicious ways these new systems will be abused.
We ALWAYS have a choice.
