Hey all,
If I render a character based on an existing franchise, is that allowed? I'm not saying a model ripped from a game, if it was made and kitbashed for this contest. Like, for instance, a Borg from Star Trek or something, but I used a Daz base and made the rest of the assets myself? Just want to make sure I clearly understand the requirements is all.

I assume you can render them all you want for yourself - though the seller of the item may get into problems with the owner of the franchise if he lacks permission.
