Do Time vs DAZ Time: your experiences?
63Do you (as developer of DAZ products) ever feel like you spend more time working on the DAZ stuff (UI, promos, packing, etc) than on actually creating the objects?
For me, the only area where there's a balanced (or even greater) emphasis on the 'Do Time' is creating poses. In this area, the (perceived) ratio for me is about 50 - 70% for poses and 30 - 50% for the DAZ UI, documentation, etc. In all other project categories, however, the ratio is actually the other way around.
And when that's compounded by a mental hang-up (whether with promo images or even just the UI icons), I sometimes wish I had never, ever, ever started creating for DAZ
How about you? What has been your experience so far?

I've taken a little break for a while. But I've spent most of my time between Blender and Substance. I'd say 65-35.
However, I have a system, some sort of personal process, already in place when it comes to DAZ. A copy and paste folder structure, a clean DAZ installation with only the base figure, etc. Things that make DAZ render/posing time very small.
For the 35% in DAZ, 20% is spent on configuration, like metadata and materials, and 15% on render shots and minor things.
But I really do spend plenty of time on the metadata because I don't like leaving loose ends or making categories that would muddy my customers' categories.

Tue, Jun 16Thanks for this insight
I'm familiar with your work and your WIPs here on the forum: the amount of effort you put into your characters is (as far as I can tell) very rare. So it's no surprise that you actually spend more time on 'Do' than on 'DAZ'
Once again: thank you
