I understand that none of us artists "owns" RenderHub. It's your platform, and ultimately you (RenderHub) to decide its direction. But that doesn't mean it's okay to forget that creators like us helped make RenderHub what it is today.
For years, thousands of artists have invested countless hours creating content, attracting customers, and building a marketplace that people trusted. And the way we did money through this platform, remember that Renderhub did aswell, they took % of our royalties. Part of this community. Many of us chose RenderHub specifically because it welcomed creators of adult-oriented content when other marketplaces did not, the purge came for CGTrader, now Renderhub.... This isn't a minor "direction" change, it's a witch hunt and it's going to propagate for other marketpplaces out there I'm sure.
Now it feels as though, after the platform has grown and become successful, the very creators who helped build it are simply being discarded. What hurts the most isn't only the decision itself-it's how it was handled.
No warning.
No email.
No notification.
No opportunity to prepare.
I had over 450+ models that represented years of work, creativity, and dedication. They were my livelihood. They were the result of thousands of hours of sculpting, testing, improving, and supporting customers.
If I had been given even one month's notice, I could have informed my customers, prepared my business for this transition, or even more time to digest it. Instead, I logged in only to discover that everything had vanished, I'm having confused clients and a mix of rage, sadness and desppair I don't even know how to put into words...
That is heartbreaking.
Many of us have built our careers around the trust we placed in RenderHub. We believed this platform supported artists like us. Losing years of work overnight, our livelihoods on risk, without even the courtesy of a warning, makes it feel as though our contributions never mattered.
I sincerely ask you to reconsider this decision.
Please don't let the legacy of RenderHub be remembered as a platform that was built by its creators, only to abandon them without warning.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this, I hope not...

Agree 100%. No notice, not even a courtesy email to us when it happened. I learned from someone on discord. It doesn't speak well of a company you'd want to do business with in any capacity.
The only blessing is that Renderhub is not a major player (or even a minor one) in the 3D world. People only shop here for porn and ripped and rigged game assets. I would imagine they'll be about as viable a website as pets.com this time next year

Not even so much as a warning email... Or an internal site message. I open the site to check my sales and find that half my store is missing?! They do realize that for A LOT of customers, the Adult Content is what they came here for, don't they? And that, for A LOT of vendors, Adult material is the main thing that sells. Years of work, building a customer base, gone. A significant source of income, in these strained times, now gone. It was bad enough when they deactivated the Adult Comics category with out a word. This is not how you treat clients or customers...

You, and all the other creators are welcome to let us, your loyal customers, know where you've gone.
I'm sure Deviant art will welcome you. If payment is going to be a problem, I wouldn't mind sending a money order through the good old Post Office...of any country. It's slow but unstoppable.

Tue, Jul 07Hi Bobb, I think you know where you'll find my NSFW projects in the future

RenderHub did the vendors dirty, really dirty.
Will they reconsider their decision? I would like that to happen but I don't see that happening. The most I see is some crafted apology post once it has been written, then ran through AI, disapproved by management, ran through AI again (possibly many times) and then approved by management. I expect if there is a post, it will be bland and without true context or flavor.

If I was a vendor in the NSFW end of business, I would be pretty upset. These kinds of changes should not just be sprung on vendors out of the blue like that. Makes me a bit nervous knowing that some big change could wipe out my meager store at any time with no kind of heads up.

I was wondering what happened. I had a couple thing in my cart and they're still there. But can't go to the page and see them. But looks like they'd still charge me and take the money for them. Didn't think anything about it when I only saw mature and no longer adult. Feel sorry for the vendors.

Tue, Jul 07Yes, same for me except the products were in my wishlist. My wishlist has a notification that says an item is on sale. What item? I don't know, it doesn't show but I cannot get rid of the notification.
I lost content worth 3k dollars on Renderotica because of the whims of a moderator. I lost hope in these cretins hosting these sites years ago. Just assume that everything is a scam, based on a mix of incompetence, nepotism/corruption, outside influence and/or greed and we will all save a ton of money going forward. I am getting extremely tired of not knowing which companies you can trust. I hope that the vendors who rely on adult content find their footing.
Maybe make a discord account and discuss making a server in a country which supports ALL content. You could pool money and host it in unison and run it as you see fit. A third party moderator would probably not cost that much either, so that you don't have to argue internally all of the time about who gets to make the decisions, and then you could vote on it directly in discord before making anything final and roll it out on the site.
I thought about this myself for some time when I tried to make my adult content commercially viable via Subscribestar and failed (Substar cut is 12%, transfer fees, 60% country tax plus expenses for rendering (energy (up to 1 dollar per kWh here at some points in 2022-2025) and wear and tear on hardware) make it pretty much ludicrous for me), and I just don't make enough money to make a private server profitable compared to the costs maintaining and designing it (on top of the problems with CC companies).
It might be good for you guys though, as you have more financial incentives and money to work with.

Wed, Jul 08Quoting myself:
"I just cannot go back to these effing Rotica-Sharks."
I am officially taking back my harsh words, since I've noticed, that they offered an open hand to me.
There is a lot to forget and more to foregive on both sides.
I know, that I have a tendency to get heated myself, I'd also like to apologize, about what erver I said or done in the heat of the moment.

Yeah, I had no money at all invested here, but the way this has been done is just unacceptable and incredibly weasely. (I genuinely thought it was a bug at first, then had to go to the forum to find the actual news.)

Wed, Jul 08Agreed. This kind of thing just eroded all my trust in this platform. I only have a few products that qualify as "adult" here, but I will be looking for alternatives, not just for those products but for everything I create. Horrendous decision by the management.

Wed, Jul 08Yes. you should read RH's thread called "Big Changes at RenderHub: A Platform Evolution". The site is undergoing massive changes.
Some prior notice, giving vendors the opportunity to back up and archive their catalogues would have been prudent but the noise would have been instant there too.

Well I have some images that vanished, mind you I keep copies of everything that I post, and I just re-downed all my purchases, it is just a matter of time before renderhub retracts those as well. I am sure of that happening. So I think they should re-emburse all of us that stand to loose everything we have downloaded and paid for. I am sure that will never happen. And yea I agree with Masterstroke going back to renderotica, (no longer renderhubs competition i guess) would not be a good thing. So gee thanks renderhub no warning no hey get what you can off the site, just wake up and the NSFW apocalypse has occurred. Yea nd no warning not even to the vendors that is not cool, no not at all. This folks is what folding looks like, kind of pathetic if you ask me.

Wed, Jul 08yea and here is an idea every vendor remove your products from this place, then when they have nothing to support the expense of this place they will see that our dollars are more important than some tiny minded politician, Do the research learn for yourself why RH folded.
Should have guessed when i posted a question on their 3d pinup comp, asking if nudity was allowed and got the answer that yes it is, but the judges will be less favourable to it.... hmmm...
Looks like the end of Renderhub, glad i only just started really looking here, time to move on to somewhere they won't shit on their food source (for a while at least)

I received an email notice this morning, AFTER they removed things from my store and from my gallery. As a new vendor who is still learning the ins and outs of selling 3D content and trying to curate a customer base, I’m curious, where is the great migration headed?

Wed, Jul 08I don't know, I still have models on 3Dexport but I wouldn't trust them, because they've removed NSFW items in the past, so IDK if there even is a safe place for us left
As Jeremy Clarkson said after the withdrawal of the Concorde. "This is a small step for a man, but one of many giant leaps backwards for mankind".

This move feels as radical as when my grandfather was told he couldn't sell his products anymore after communism took over. Censorship is an invisible Berlin Wall.
I still have hopes that RH will reconsider and not join the ranks of those who want to destroy art, creativity, and freedom.
