I already posted my entry, but I just realized my main image is a square, at 1080x1080. Is this resolution okay?
The contest rules state:
"Render can be in any aspect ratio format, but must be high resolution at least 1920x1080 or 1080x1920"
Does that mean a square image should be at least 1920x1920? I can easily replace it with a higher res version if so.
Thanks.

I'd like to know too. I'm working on something with a portrait-mode composition but a 9:16 ratio feels very cramped.

Tue, Oct 06Per the official rules: "Render can be in any aspect ratio format".
That means you do not need to constrain yourself to 9:16.

Wed, Oct 07Sure thing! Good luck in the contest, and thank you for participating.

I'd like to know this as well. Thanks for bringing it up! The way that rule is phrased, it sounds to me like as long as the smallest dimension is at least 1080px, you're good. But a clarification would be appreciated.

Tue, Oct 06No. By your interpretation, that would mean 1080x1200 would be acceptable also. And that would certainly contradict the posted rules.
To clarify... One of the sides must be at least 1080, and the other must be at least 1920. I'm sorry if that was not clear.

Tue, Oct 06Just to make sure I'm understanding your clarification correctly, my main image submission is currently 1440x1080 (5:4). So in my case, would I need to increase it to at least 1920x1536?

Tue, Oct 06Yes, to conform to the rules, you should increase the size. 1920x1536 would satisfy the dimension requirements.

@mignola -
Yes, that should be interpreted as "one of the sides must be at least 1920". So if it's a square, it must be at least 1920x1920. I apologize for any confusion.

Tue, Oct 06Okay, thanks! I'll go ahead and swap it out for a higher-res version.
One more question: does the resolution rule apply to all of the supporting images in an entry, or just the main image?

Tue, Oct 06Sounds good. And that just applies to the main image.
