Suggestion: an option to filter IP Restricted products (CLOSED)

I am really liking the new category filters on store pages, like female characters. However, Id also like to see a drop-down filter or checkbox to filter out IP Restricted results. I almost never buy them, so it can sometimes be annoying when I find an interesting looking character or outfit and then realize on the store page that its based on a game or movie. Its clearly marked on the store page license section, so its just an inconvenience. But Id like to be able to eliminate them from my browsing or at least see an icon or something with the store thumbnails so I dont waste my time with them. I know most vendors mention the game in the product title, but sometimes its just initials and I dont realize what it means until I click into the product description.
It also results in me missing some non-restricted products, because if a vendor sells both, I tend to overlook the original characters/outfits mixed in with IP Restricted products. A filter would make it easier to find them.

I'd go a step farther and disallow sales of anything that is "IP restricted", in the first place. Give that stuff a separate category. RenderHub should be protecting its business from copyright violations, not issuing a separate "license" that wouldn't hold up in court because those assets are still being sold. I'm not saying it would come down to a court case, but nobody wants a C&D letter from a group of lawyers. And this doesn't fall under "fair use" no matter how much mental gymnastics.
I recall buying a figure on Renderosity some time ago. It was modeled after RoboCop, and the likeness was so close that Renderosity had to take it down, and issue a statement to each purchaser to delete the asset. RenderHub has been crossing that line for a while now, so it's just a matter of time before that happens here.

I can tell you that certainly is the case already.
I work remotely, but have been on telephone conferences with the owner and the IP attorneys who are specialists in this very thing.
In case you haven't noticed, RenderHub operates very much like companies such as TurboSquid, CGTrader, Sketchfab, Shutterstock, and many others.
They all have "IP Restricted" or "Editorial Use Only" licenses of some sort.
RenderHub is a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) compliant operation, just like the companies I mentioned above.
If you take a look at the DMCA pages of those websites, and the one here on RenderHub, you'll find that they are all very similar.
RenderHub's DMCA page can be found right here: https://www.renderhub.com/info/dmca-notice

Wed, Aug 03, 2022Distribution is nine-tenths of the law. Do the vendors here who are selling say........ Star Wars ships, do they have a license to sell those recognizable Disney-owned likenesses? Are those 3D models transformative? I'll just leave it at that.

Wed, Aug 03, 2022I'm not an attorney, nor part of the RenderHub legal team, so I have no business discussing legal issues whatsoever.
I can only talk about or quote things that are freely available for anyone to see.
As such, I must just leave it at that also.

Thanks for the feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve the user experience.
"...at least see an icon or something with the store thumbnails..."
That sounds like a neat idea. Thank you for sharing. I have added this to our admin notes with a link to this thread.
