"The Sentinels of the Swamp"
The local tribe warned them, that the swamp was Forbidden to all but the old medicine man who entered to leave offerings to the spirits of swamp on behalf of his tribe and so the tribe would be left in peace. They were told other in the past have been warned a youth who was dared to go into middle of swamp by others, a pair of hitchhiking tourists, cowboys who went in search of lost cattle from nearby ranches.
All entered the misty depths and never returned, only few of the personal items were found on the edges of the swamp...
The contractor workers who were hired to drain the same for the developer laughed at the old man who came to warn them, pleaded for their family's sake to stop They called him mad, crazy So the old medicine man slowly walked away leaning his staff, shaking his head sadly, under his breath... White Fools! They will pay and walked away, the team of workers started work, eerily a heavy fog came over where they were blocking out the sun, so they went to turn on the generators, but oddly these do not work, only head lamp and hand torches did...
So, they decided to relax and wait for the fog to lift they were mistaken. The fog remained, one called out to others - What is that!!!? As he pointed an eerier glow coming from the middle of the swamp. Creaking, guttural sounds starred to be heard from this direction.
The workers mouths open in shock as strange figures shadowed by the glow from the swamp midst came closer.
Some started to run, dropping their tools, pale in terror, but to no avail for the strange figures had surrounded them, grabbing them, knocking them down, stabbing them with their weird limbs, and dragging the bodies back into the Centre of the swamp...
And so, they too soon joined the ranks of "The Sentinels of the Swamp"
