Is there a way to see, when a creator has visited the site the last time?
Are there other ways to get the creator's attention, than with the messages?

On every product page - on the right hand side "Offered By" section...
...you will see a "Profile" link like you see here on one of my own product pages.

When you click the Profile link - at the top of that page - you'll see "Last seen" info.
If you don't get a response to messaging a vendor here, you can see if they have social media pages listed and try contacting them there.
If that doesn't work, you could post something in the forum here.
Perhaps another vendor may know that vendor and might be able to reach out to them on your behalf.
If all else fails, feel free to shoot a message to Support. We might be able to help.
