I've decided to revisit an earlier piece, not being wholly satisfied with the liquid effects , so it's been re-done with displacements and added refractions, I've also added more postwork to enhance the visual effect of the water, adding more "wet" volume to the hair and adding additional water droplets in PS, the middle pic is my first go at it for comparison (I'll delete the first thread to avoid confusion).

Fri, Mar 03, 2023Thanks, I felt I had to revisit it to apply the additional stuff like the ripples and additional water elements that weren't present in the first shot at it, they were time consuming to get right but well worth the effort for the difference they make to the shot. Glad you like it

Looks better. Alot of the times we don't know until we try.
I can see the spraying effect as the falling water hits the pool around the robot. Nice touch.

Fri, Mar 03, 2023Thank you, you're absolutely right, each time I revisit something after a few days I find something else to tweak or find something to approach from a different angle, that spray for example started out much larger but I dialled it back after deciding that a more subtle approach worked better.
