Just a simple forum post to tell you why I like RenderHub the way I do.
I've been a member here since (had to look it up) 2018, but my account here was dormant for years and honestly, the past few years since signup I've rarely visited RenderHub.
I did all my postings on DA and Rendo. DA changed the complete look and feel a few years ago, which I didn't like at all, so I left there. (Among other -personal- reasons..)
On Rendo I have been posting since 2006 then after many years I deleted the contents of my whole gallery because I got tired of the copy-and-paste comments, and also felt that posting my pinup styled images was indeed allowed but when it got to -even light- nudity, well... they handle that rather prudish to say the least.
It was in February 2021 that I started posting on Rendo again after maybe 2 years, but not allowing comments anymore.
I also have a Gallery on Daz, but I think they invented the concept of prudiness.. At the other side of the prude spectrum is R'otica, but I never posted there. A little bit 'too-much-of-the-same' over there (imho).
At the end of October 2022, I found RenderHub through a promotional email with an Add-on for Genesis 9. (Yes, the 'Nipples Add-on for G9' from Rendorgal, which is a very good add-on by the way. . )
I then also took a look at the Main Gallery.
What I especially liked is the variety of images here. Images of props, promo images for new products, images that you can show to your colleagues at work, but also images with nudity and even images that are a bit pornographic, without anyone being judgmental about it. (Yes, I do look at 'those' renders too..)
It's the mix that appeals to me, plus the fact that people (yes, YOU, admins and members alike) seem so relaxed, friendly and helpful!
Of course there will be also 'misunderstandings' and possibly 'harsh words' here too sometimes. I also participate in real life so now and then, and I know you can't please everyone all the time..
What I would like to know is how others (you) experience RenderHub. Do you agree with what I wrote? Or is it just "silly blonde me" feeling this way?
..just wanted to share this..

As an admin here, I want to thank you for taking the time to post this. I appreciate the kind words, and we're open to criticism, too.
The owner wants RenderHub to be very community oriented, so we like to give members the features that they ask for.
Thank you for being a part of the RenderHub community. I will be watching your thread with interest.

-giving members the features what they ask for- is not an easy task.. Most people want something different!

I think RenderHub not exactly being one of the "big boys" helps with that, kinda like with any other field or industry. It's the "little guy" that makes you feel at home, even if there might not be as much available.
Just recently, I started coming out of my rendering shell and started posting some assorted renders here (fanart and otherwise) to a decent reception. The gallery variety I think helps ease people into it if they're just getting started with putting things out there. In terms of my offline stuff, I've got things that range from Safe For Church to Explicit Content.
I think my DAZ stuff is slowly catching up to my long gone Poser stuff (material and renders) that was on a previous hard drive that checked out a couple of years back.
The group here's been good. It's been nice to get "they noticed me!" moments when I use a content producer's stuff in a render.

Indeed. I get that striking feeling too, like those other sites are acquaintances or colleagues, but this feels like family. I'm going to not get along sometimes, but we're all familiar enough to say our piece. I know where to go when I want to be real.
Absolutely clean gallery, by the way. Your poses, fits, and lighting are just "mwah."

Also thank for your comment on my gallery although I have no clue what 'mwah' means.. (google translate didn't know either.. lol)

I think that also helps keep things going here. We're more likely to buy from friends and people we interact with than from entities we don't give a 2nd thought to (which applies not just here or to 3D stuff, but... well... in general).
I'm also the type that can be slow to fully warm up/open up.

Thanks for the explanation! (..in Dutch we also use an expression that sounds like "mwah", but then it means a person is indifferent to something or thinks something is 'so so'..) I forgot that blowing a hand kiss does also goes with the same sound.. (I told ya I am 'blonde')

Sun, Mar 05, 2023Yeah, moving to this side of the Atlantic, I also learned that "quite" has almost an identical difference in implication between US and UK English. But yes, nothing but love in my expression. "Chef's kiss" was a good descriptor.

When I saw the creation of the thread, I hadn't understood the real interest and what kind of conversation would be held there.
I confirm that the welcome from the renderhub admin team has nothing to do with the welcome I got on 2 other sites when I uploaded my first product. Here I had a detail of the reasons for the refusal and personalized advice. My promotional images did not really highlight the product. My description was incomplete, and also suggestions for keywords.
On the other 2 sites I just had a refusal by sending me to a page like "seller help". As I didn't really understand what was wrong with my package, I went elsewhere. And elsewhere it's renderhub

Mon, Mar 06, 2023I am not the only admin that answers Support messages, but I do remember chatting with you a while back.
Some people do not handle rejection very well, but you were very receptive to the suggestions I made.
You understood that I was trying to help you, and you have made significant improvements since then.
You should be very happy with yourself for the progress you have made.

I know you. We go way back, a lot farther back than perhaps anyone on this site would even realize.
I really don't "experience" RenderHub. I came here on someone's suggestion, 4-5 years ago. I have a store here and am not really interested in growing that store. Now, based on what is popular here, you're gonna settle in and become very popular. Yes, there is a community here. I'm not a part of it. While I still cling onto some hope that somewhere my work will regain a little popularity, I don't expect it anymore. So I concentrate most of my "social media time" on where my base is. I really don't have friends here, and get no real feedback on what I post. A few have ended up following me elsewhere and I appreciate that.
I've seen you move from platform to platform, and wondered from time to time why you'd leave unannounced. RenderHub is extremely "niche", just fair warning. That may be ok for you. Having an enclosed fanbase may be ok for you. But I had better stop, as I am already having feelings of deja vu.

Mon, Mar 06, 2023You've got some cool stuff. Have you *thought* about updating your stuff to Genesis and Iray? I wouldn't think it would take too much effort and would probably rekindle your sales! I know I could have used some of your products a few months ago when I was doing some Valentine's renders.
Yes I know I can import the OBJs and parent them and scale them myself but time is money as they say.
Plus, new users to the hobby probably (a) don't know about that, and (b) don't know how to do that.
Just a thought.

Also true that I have have left some platforms rather unannounced, but believe me when I say that I had my reasons. I'm also human and have made my fair share of mistakes. (Haven't we all?)
I do think that the 'niche' as you call RenderHub has its charm. The 'big' sites can create the feel that you don't matter. Your just a number there.
Especially on smaller platforms it is the way you experience the feedback (or lack of it) that will make you 'engaged' of 'indifferent' in the community they have. And that is perfectly OK either way. Not all places are perfect for everybody.
I do thank you for the reply you've made, always good to see an old friend.

Sat, Mar 11, 2023I'd love to "update" to Genesis, but for two reasons which I have explained many times before.
1.) I have way too much time and money already invested in V4.
2.) "Toon" morphs for Genesis are, to be kind, atrocious.
Now, if you would like to send me $10,000 in Genesis content, I'll get crackin' as they say. I'm not here to "sell content". The offer was made back in 2019, because Renderosity was not at all interested in what I had "for sale". I've sold a few dozen copies of my heart collar here, and that is a few dozen more than I expected.
From here on out, I will probably just stick to regular OBJ props. I don't see the point in packaging a static prop for a DAZ figure just so someone can click on a thumbnail for it to suddenly appear on a wrist or a neck. Importing a model that I modeled to a figure in Blender, appears in the same position in Studio anyway. I just made a bed and a bunch of pillows in Blender, that may or may not be a hit here. It depends, really. But I did not make those objects just to be sold. I made them to help make a rendered scene. I'm very much a proponent of the artist learning as much as he/she is able to. And believe me, every single DAZ Studio artist should become at least familiar with moving and scaling objects in the Studio userspace.

"I'm very much a proponent of the artist learning as much as he/she is able to. And believe me, every single DAZ Studio artist should become at least familiar with moving and scaling objects in the Studio userspace.".
I totally agree with the idea of scaling up Daz users. But sincerely "it's not won", because it must be shown that in reality importing an obj or other file and scaling is easy and fast.
I just joined a photo club and I'm going to show them how to take anaglyph photos, a step towards 3D. To show them that it's not just photography and drawing to create images, I made a short presentation of Daz studio and one person said "it's complicated". Faced with novelty, the first reaction is to say "it's complicated" as soon as a software has a large number of functionalities.

That's probably how most of us it on that program. I know I myself sometimes can feel a bit awkward for Model A wearing Outfit B striking Pose C in Environment D. I myself have yet to try OBJ imports in DAZ (I did in Poser way back in the day to mixed results). Maybe I'll try that one of these days.

Hope that goes well for you! Yeah, DAZ has a bit of a learning curve - I had one coming in from Poser, where I knew how to do something in Poser but not in DAZ. There's still quite a bit in DAZ I've really yet to tap into, though I know enough to do what I'm hoping to do.

I agree with why I think Renderhub is so cool. I had a DA account a long time ago and since the new layout AND the increasing misery of AI generated images I have left this sinking ship as many have. The same also applied to Artstation and Rendo. With rendo I have another dispute. Because I had become artist of the year 2022 and I have been promised prizes, I have not heard anything since. After 3 months of waiting I decided to have my Rendo account deleted on request.
That's why I feel safe with Renderhub as they clearly send the message that they are against AI generated graphics. For that my infinite thanks and the personal correspondence via my message box.

Talk about timing. I have been here a while... on and off, but it took 1 day to dig the slit trench I need outside my tent. I was posting at a few others, one of them that rend-o... who nixxed a post of trumpf with chains ...it was very polite actually, but without warning or notice or message it was gone. So, text upwards...its down, there will be a decision coming. Oh... really. This sounds familiar. So, off to the "whothefrackisthiscompany" races I went and sure enough, that *koff koff* company is based in Murfreesboro, Tn. I have to admit I was helping a family member with her kidlets and ended up there a number of years, and its singularly one of the most unpleasant places I've ever lived, and I"ve been all over the country.
I had tweaked their little trumpfy minds and they reacted with all the vehemence and respect possible... and deleted it saying the chains were against policy.
I didn't even consider removing my posts, but that's going to be fun.
I won't use that bunch of IDPYV($E*TYFGODIHVO*W$&FGT joiks ever again.

I tend to like the non-judgemental approach, and most of the artist on here are very approachable. I feel Daz is a bit bias when it comes to their Gallery. I also like the Karma system here as well.

Fri, Jul 21, 2023I have heard that late posts are better on site bandwidth than duplicate threads.
There's a little something for everyone here, both in the gallery and the marketplace. From wholesome to explicit, from mainstream to niche. And with a supportive bunch for each.

I'm mixed, and I say that to be taken with a grain of salt. The people have been mostly friendly here, one in particular was extremely patient with me
because some things I just don't get and I get frustrated.
What I like most? There's goodies here you just don't find anywhere else. And it's reasonably priced. And I lot of it is very very versatile if you
experiment with it.
What I don't like? Well, mostly there's no standardized layout for the contents of the zip files. I have learned a way to load those things, but it
doesn't always work with some files because they are laid out in their own unique ways. With a couple vendors' products, I figured it out. With
others though.... no. So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong (probably), or if it's DAZ being weird and glitchy again (maybe), or just my
computer being wonky (also possible).

See for example there's a couple products I bought for facial expression morphs. The installation instructions again was something new, but it didn't seem
very weird. Just open the contents and put them in My Daz 3D Library folder.
At first I thought this was interesting because for once it seemed extremely simple. OK.
I had downloaded some poses from this vendor before and installed them with no problem at all, so let's see.
What's the catch?
There is no such file folder with that name anywhere on this computer. Anywhere. I have spent literally days systematically searching every single file
folder on this machine for it. Every day, over and over and over again. It does not exist. I even searched all folders which are not even part of Daz. Nope.
Not there either. It doesn't exist. I can't drop files into a folder which is not there. I looked in EVERY file folder and program on this computer. Every last
one of them. Including photos, music, and videos.
The only folder I found which is close, I thought was it, except it is specifically for Genesis 9 morphs. I thought it might be it but when I looked closer
I saw My Daz 3D Library was only part of the name, and anyway what I'm looking for is specifically for Genesis 8. OK so that explains why I got the
little red circle with a line through it when I tried to put those files in there.
The vendor thought it wasn't installing because I need Genesis 8 figures. Good theory except virtually ALL my figures are Genesis 8 and I have a LOT
of morphs and expressions for them not only from the Daz store, but elsewhere.
So, another thing I like about Renderhub is when weird things like this happens, the products in general are mostly inexpensive so I'm not out a lot
of money if I decide to save myself the aggravation and just give up on it. Who knows, maybe some time within the next year I will accidentally find
something that makes it work.
So yeah... a standardized way of installing files which works every time would be a HUGE help.

Sun, Jul 23, 2023So we don't hijack @CalladsEssence thread, can you please re-post this in the Site Help and Feedback section?
https://www.renderhub.com/forum/site-help-and-feedback
That way, it will become it's own topic - and maybe some vendors will start to realize it's not good to inconvenience customers like this.
I'll address your concerns in that thread, too.
"Improper Product Folder Structure" would be a good title for your thread.

Sun, Jul 23, 2023OK will do.
Understand I am generally reluctant to ask for tech help because it seems those who DO understand these things also seem
not to understand some of us do NOT. Many times in the past - and I've been on the internet since 1996 - it's just given people
an excuse to bash me. Or if they do try to help, I still don't get it. That's usually what happens.
