Excellent work on your android! I really like the body texture and how it's not overly shiny metal. I also like the minimalist use of emission, and especially the eyes behind the mask.

Sat, Mar 04, 2023Thanks. There's enough shine on the texture that it did manage to create a nice blue reflective line in the inside of the left arm, reflected off the left side of the light on the left side of the body. The eyes were just two while circles on a black background that I used as a make for the emissions on the faceplate. It works well as it makes it hard to tell if the light is coming from the faceplate or somehow shining through from behind.

Sat, Mar 04, 2023Thanks. The background cause me a lot of trouble. First it was too dark, then too light, and when I got level of light right, it looked flat and boring. I darkened it, threw in a fairly bright spotlight from the side (at first red, then I thought I stick with the cold blue look for the whole image). With just a little DOF, the darker background with the well light android pretty much hit what I was trying to go for. I wanted this to be a raw render, so there is no post-work done on the image.
