I wanted to try a couple ideas I had regarding scenes and space stations.
This is a section of a ring, which when finished, will include some spokes, elevators to ascend and descend to other levels of the ring.

I also wanted to try making a model of a planet rather than use a backdrop.
Planet Escancia, in the background, is a sphere with texture.

In addition to the ceiling lighting inside the ring, there are two additional light sources illuminating the scene for effects.

imageA new scene.
This time with anti-skid plating and flat black tube frames.

Having arrived at one of the elevators that lead up, sort of anyway (Is there an up in space?) to the core of the wheel.

The tube is a half mile long with an elevator every 600 feet.

Further improvements.

Wanted more light in the tube and added new lighting inside the lifts.
Discovered there was a difference in brilliance between the lift lighting and the tub lighting so adjustments were necessary.

I still like the flat, rubber looking floor and framing as well as the stark difference between the lift structure in a gloss and the tube structure in flat.

Adjusted the planetoid, atmosphere a bit as well.
