How to present our clothes for sale? (CLOSED)

"We've all been "conditioned" to put out finished compositions to help sell our assets. Personally I'd be fine with just a rendering of what's being sold."
I wonder about the way promotional images are made.
1) render the garment alone
2) render the garment worn by genesis with no other garment than the one being sold
3) render the garment worn by genesis with hair and shoes.

I ask the question in this forum because I am very interested in the answers of buyers!

As a (potential) buyer, I want to see 3D clothing "in action" - i.e. not just boring basic poses, but also how the clothing behaves in more complex poses. That's why I personally don't like commercials that only show the clothes or some kind of immobile mannequin wearing them.
As a CC, I try to keep the promos focused on the product. I use models with hair etc., but try to keep the backgrounds very minimalistic.

This feels related to a recent topic in Daz forums, discussing a particular PA and how much of their promo shots are raw lighting versus post-production, because no one can reproduce their promo shots in a render. This, of course, led to a lot of fans jumping in and talking about how brilliant their renders were. That's besides the point, you should have just enough WYSIWYG to make an informed choice. Someone brought up bluejaunte - understated but honest being the best method for promo pics.
As for what to include? A mix.
1) render the garment alone
Yes. Nothing pisses me off more than finding out something like a thong strap is not only part of the base article of clothing, but isn't a separate surface that can be hidden. Seeing it off the model gives a good idea whether I wanna mess with it.
2) render the garment worn by genesis with no other garment than the one being sold
Hell yeah include that.
3) render the garment worn by genesis with hair and shoes. Does the hair hide it? Pick out some different hair. Does the outfit come with shoes? If not, leave them out.
