"Jia Chen" Year (Year of the Dragon) (CLOSED)

"JIA CHEN" YEAR
The title of this piece is called "Jia Chen" Year (), which the name of the year 2024, based on Chinese astrology. It is also the Year of the Dragon.
The character that inspired the work is enigmatic Yuan Tian Gang (), a legendary master of geomancy, who advised 4 generations of emperors during the Tang Dynasty. There is much lore about him (immortality and unworldly abilities) and he has written many works on geomancy, the most famous being "Tui Bei" Scrolls (), which predicts the general theme of worldly affairs. There are 60 chapters in the scroll (in Chinese astrology, 60 years form a cycle) and "Jia Chen" is Chapter 41. The words in this piece are the header of this chapter, which predict big changes, turbulence and bloodshed. There are over 50 elections scheduled for this year (most prominently in the US). Wars in the Middle East and Ukraine are still on-going. Chances of conflicts in the Taiwan Straits and Korean Peninsular have also risen recently. Nostradamus or otherwise, you be the judge.
The art style is inspired by Chinese ink painting. Renders are done in Daz and post-production in PS, trying to create the ink painting effect.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I have making it.

Tue, Jan 23, 2024He looks like he knows what he's doing. If he is decisive in his goals, I don't think he'll have any problems solving them in the future.
Handling all those nations and dynasty isn't an easy task, I agree.
Good to see emerging 3d artists revisiting the work of traditional artists.
I wish you good luck as well.
